This elegant luxury hotel enjoys a long tradition and is situated at the entrance to the historical old town. Links to the public transport system are only 100 m from the hotel and there is an array of sights of interest, numerous restaurants, cafés, bars aplenty and many entertainment venues in the old town's immediate vicinity. The train station is just a few minutes walk away.

Facility

The hotel was built in 1895. 19 junior suites, 5 suites, 25 single rooms and 143 double rooms are located on 5 storeys and can be reached by 2 lifts. The friendly staff at the reception desk are happy to answer any questions. Amenities include a baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service and cash machine. Wireless internet access is provided in public areas. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. A number of shops, including a souvenir shop, are great for shopping or just browsing. A garden provides extra space for rest and relaxation in the open air. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park. Air conditioning and central heating ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. Rooms have a double bed, a queen-size bed or a king-size bed. Extra beds can be requested.     1, when checking in, I was behind 1 other couple also checking in. There were 2 attendants at hotel desk, both were fully attentive to the couple in front of me, but the conversation was casual conversation etc, not details of check in or anything of urgency. I waited 11 minutes, no eye contact with the trainee or the other attendant. Then when did get attention, was checked in with some confusion on pre-authorization.2. Room was small and shabby, and nothing to keep light from entering either of 2 windows all around edge of curtains. Could read a book in bed at 6 am without turning any lights on.3. And, after checking out after 2 nights stay, I was charged $561.This hotel had been booked with travel agency and fully paid 4 months before trip began. And no, no damages to room. Nothing in mini bar to take.I called hotel 3 times to dispute charge, first 2 times I hung up after 3 minutes on hold.Third time I could not get attendant to understand situation, or take any further action to resolve.I disputed charge with credit card company.     Badly in need of renovation or a price restructure!

    This hotel needs an update! Is it a bad hotel? No. Is it worth the money? Also No! I used points for our stay so didn’t cost me cash, but a considerable number of points.     Great location - but noisy

    Location: Excellent - a short walk from the train station and to the old town.Rooms: Just OK - the “city view” rooms face the street and can be very noisy. We asked to change rooms as the first one was on the 2nd floor (German - floor 1) and was very loud from the streetcar. In addition, our stay coincided with a very rowdy soccer game. The city was full of loud, drunk fans from both teams. We were switched to a larger room on a higher floor - better but still pretty loud. This hotel does cater to large groups, so switching rooms may not always be possible. The halls are very dark and dingy looking - dark gray walls and carpet. Our room was comfortable enough, but nothing special. Tub/shower has very high sides and can be tricky to get in and out of safely.Staff: pleasant and helpfulBreakfast: Good hot dishes, eggs to order, breads. We were disappointed in the selection of fresh fruit, cold cuts, and pastries. Overall, it is an acceptable choice for a convenient location. Just be careful to request a quiet room.     Rooms were not clean nor quiet

    We got the worst room in the hotel. It was very small, and it was not clean. The walls around the toilet were streaked with something gross. The carpet seemed dirty md the walls were grubby. Our room was second floor, tiny and right by the stairwell where staff went up and down and slammed doors incessantly. There was no luggage rack, and no mirror where you could sit and do makeup or hair. We asked to switch rooms and they would not. The breakfast was good and the location is great but I would not stay here again. Disappointing!     Our travel agent booked us here for a “4 star” stay in nuremburg. Its awful. See if you can find a better hotel. The room we were assigned was dark and smelled of smoke or mold with barely enough room to get around the bed and no place but the bed to put our luggage. Because of the room we were suspect of the carpet not knowing where the odor came from. When we realized it was actually a marriot my husband showed the front desk his marriot number and they moved us to a better room, which was an improvment to perhaps a 2Or 3 star marriot room. The bar at the hotel is lovely with fun staff, and the breakfast was good. We had a sunset drink at a rooftop bar across the street with amazing views so you might check out that hotel. We hired a walking guide named Tony and really enjoyed the town. Nuremberg has a rich and fascinating history and is well worth a couple days visit, but find a nicer hotel if you are looking in the 3-5 star range.
