    Nice hotel but poor management

    Upon my arrival at the Novotel Nuremberg, the staff member informed me that I had to pay an additional 60 euros as a deposit for my stay, because there were afraid in case I make any expenses the hotel must have a guarantee!!!Note that, I have never been asked for a deposit by hotels in this chain before. Although I requested to settle my stay upon arrival, to pay the whole amount for my stay, she insisted that this was not possible.After informing the hotel manager about my disagreement, the manager told me that if I didn't pay the 60 euros, I would not be allowed to stay at the hotel and should find somewhere else to stay.His attitude was offensive and dismissive towards me, saying that this is the hotel's policy and if I like it, I can stay, otherwise, I can leave.Because I have been a Silver member at Accor Hotels for years, I consider this to be the most unprofessional behavior I have encountered in my life from a hotel manager who is acting like an owner or the hotel and it truly discredits your hotel.I'm sorry that this person was chosen for this position. At last I suggest to visit Greece to learn about greeck hospitality!

    WTF ... Because I do not want them to spam my email inbox from their loyalty program, they have me waiting in the lobby to get a room.     I definitely do not recommend it. An expensive item was stolen from my room. I can’t say that the hotel management was very helpful about this situation either.     Very comfortable stay

    Excellent location - right next to the main train station and walking distance to the Christmas markets. We did not take the breakfast buffet option, so can’t comment on the food. We did not use the spa / pool because it felt a little overcrowded but that’s understandable in holiday season!There was an Indian restaurant right across the road from the hotel, and we were very happy for that! Overall, a very comfortable stay.     This is a predictable Novotel. I say that as a compliment. Novotels sameness world wide is its strenght.Good brand recognition with upgrade provided etc.One suggestion is that if guests arrive before check in time have a system to send a whatsapp message saying room is ready.Very close to station. Some rooms might have noise issues i am not sure but we were on the other side of the building and it was OK.Surprisngly good view of fireworls on NYE over the old tower.
