    WORST hotel staff EVER

    rating03 Mar 2023

I arrive late at the hotel after a 10 hour drive and am greeted by the most rude receptionist! Christian was so inappropriate and in such a bad mood that I would have left again if I could! I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, also the room was not clean, there were long hairs in the sink and the glass in the bathroom was dirty. Peter Löw, Geschäftsführer at Ringhotel Loew"s Merkur, responded to this review Dear guest, thank you very much for your feedback. I regret that you did not feel as comfortable with us as you expected. Unfortunately, I am surprised by your description of your check-in, because the staff member you mentioned by name in particular is a soul of a person and stands out for his absolutely correct behaviour towards our guests. I hope you had a successful stay in Nuremberg. Yours sincerely, Peter Löw, your host

    Not perfect but quite good

    rating07 Mar 2022

The location is both bad and good; too close to railway line and traffic for comfort but convenient when traveling. The hotel itself has a rather cumbersome layout since it consists of 3 (or 2, I'm not sure) different but connected buildings which makes finding your rooms a bit f a challenge. It is also in need of some upgrading. Rooms are ok but not very charming. Breakfast was a bit of a disappointment; the famous bratwurst was lacking 2 out of 3 mornings and the food selection was limited. That was the negatives, then the positives; very helpful staff, high hygienic standard, easy check-in/out, quick taxi service and an absolute decent restaurant. The place has little charm but it works. Finally, the cost was Eur 255 Including breakfast) per night which I feel is really too high for a hotel this standard but it was during the IWA exhibition when prices tend to rise to the unacceptable levels.

    Really 4 stars?

    rating20 Nov 2019

Who awarded this hotel a 4 star rating and when? This hotel is massively overpriced, crying out for refurbishment and located between the railway line and a busy road.No toiletries provided, just soap out of a dispenser which was not good quality.Bad wifi & tv.The gym equipment is sparse and broken, I turned around and walked out.The staff are nice, but nothing else. PeterLoew, Geschäftsführer at Ringhotel Loew"s Merkur, responded to this review Dear guest, thank you for your feedback. We regret that you did not find the comfort you expected. Due to your anonimity, I cannot identify your stay at our Hotel. Therefore I can only answer your questions in a general way. We were awarded as a 4-star Hotel in October 2019 by Bayern Tourism agency using the EU-hotelstars criteria catalogue, which is international accepted standard. The hotel is in a permanent process of refurbishment. About 70 rooms were refurbished within the last 5 years. There is no evidence of any broken equipment in our gym and the selection of equipment you saw follows the exact recommendations of one of the most wellknown manufacturers for sport equipment in hospitality Our Location is central and within walking distance to the beautiful city center and the central station. This perfect location we share with about 12 other hotels in the near, among them the best 5-star Hotel in Nuremberg. I hope you had a successful stay in Nuremberg. Yours sincerely Peter Löw, your host

    Maze like

    rating26 Feb 2019

We stayed here as part of a tour so there was a bus load of 38 to accommodate. Half of us were in the main building the other half of us had to walk our luggage around the back to a separate building. This second building was connected to the main building via a walkway, however the layout of the two buildings was like a maze trying to find your way. The elevator in the back building was very small & we had to take our suitcases up in loads with one person operating the elevator while everyone else walked up otherwise it would have taken too long. We were on the 2nd floor but got confused because there are two sections to it, rooms on the actual 2nd floor then a small set of stairs to get to the 2nd section. We decided we would call it floor two & a half. Finding our way back to the lobby was quite difficult for some, even following the signs they still got lost. The rooms themselves were quite good, clean & comfortable. The service of the staff was also good. We ate in their dining room which was just near the lobby. The hotel is within walking distance of the Old town & the train station is just across the road. Apart from the maze like layout we enjoyed our stay there. PeterLoew, Geschäftsführer at Ringhotel Loew"s Merkur, responded to this review Dear guest, thank you very much for your Feedback concerning your stay at our Hotel around Christmas time. Pros and cons

    rating21 Feb 2019

The hotel is not extremely modern but fully okay. The rooms are clean. The service was friendly. We especially enjoyed the tasty meals. Although the hotel is rather central and you can reach many sights on foot, I did not really like the location in the neighbourhood of Nuremberg Central Station. The view was not breathtaking. PeterLoew, Geschäftsführer at Ringhotel Loew"s Merkur, responded to this review Dear guest, thank you for your nice feedback and your sensitive assessment of our surroundings. We are glad that you enjoyed the stay in our Hotel and appreciated the closeness to the City. We are looking forward to welcoming you again Yours sincerely Peter Löw, your host and the team of Ringhotel Loew's Merkur
