    Nice hotel, aweful dinner

    rating23 Feb 2026

The hotel is in a quiet area, room was nice and decorations in the room were nice. Hot water in the shower was temperamental, bed comfortable and nice how the window can be opened for air. Breakfast decent, hotel staff nice. However, the restaurant for dinner was aweful. Waited for over 1.5 hours for a over cooked, hard, tasteless meal. So disappointing. The place was not even busy.Recommend to stay here, just eat somewhere Else.... Thomas Nagel, Other at Seminaris Hotel Nurnberg, responded to this review Dear IndyKelly,Thank you for sharing your impressions. We are glad to hear you appreciated the quiet location, the room design, the comfortable bed, and the possibility to air the room, as well as the friendly team and breakfast. We are sorry that your dinner experience did not meet expectations and that you faced a long wait and an unsatisfying meal. A well-prepared dinner served in a timely manner is an important part of a pleasant stay, and we regret the disappointment this caused. We also note your remark about the shower temperature and understand how consistency matters for comfort.Your feedback is valuable to us. We hope to have the chance to welcome you again and provide a fully satisfying experience.Best regards, the Seminaris Hotel Nuremberg team

    Would never recommend this place.

    rating10 Dec 2025

We arrived at 6.45 pm with only about 30 minutes to refresh before dinner after travelling all day to Hotel Seminaris and our room was not ready. They had given us keys and when we went to go into the room, the beds had been slept in/ the room was not made up or ready. After going down to reception to be given a new room - I went to the new room and it smelt so bad, like someone had just used the loo - a sewer smell. While my friend was waiting at reception for me she overheard a couple others complain about stinky rooms too. So back down to reception in a slow lift, I went to let them know and to change rooms. They eventually gave us a new room and this time the receptionist came up to check it didn’t stink and the key wouldn’t work, his master key didn’t even work. So he had to get a key off the cleaners. The room was ok finally by 7.20, I went to get my bags out of the stinky room and the key wouldn’t work again. Luckily the receptionist was still on the same floor so I waved him down to get me in the room to get our bags and he walked in and said “oh it does smell.” So finally after getting into our third room we went down for dinner as a group. It was horrible - we were served a beef broth for a starter that was very interesting, it wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t great either. Dinner was some kind of bird - dry and disgusting - a ball of dry dough and some questionably tasting cabbage. Out of our whole group, barely anyone finished. Dessert was ok - a creme brûlée, not the best, but it was edible. After a night sleep we got up at 6am to have a shower, but there was only one towel. I went to ring reception and the phone didn’t work at all. The shower was very difficult to figure out with no explanation on how to use it anywhere but we figured it out eventually. Just want to note we are not usually people to complain but it was just one thing after another with barely an apology. The key system needs an override as there were so many issues with others as well. Would never recommend this place, it was beyond frustrating. Thomas Nagel, Other at Seminaris Hotel Nurnberg, responded to this review Dear Sammy B,Thank you for sharing such detailed feedback. Nice modern hotel

Very modern and pleasant hotel. Spacious bedroom, well appointed and nice bathroom. Reception staff very pleasant and polite. Great buffet breakfast with good choice of food. Large free car park. Situated a little bit out of town, and car is required to visit the city. Comfortable and convenient for a stay in Nürnberg w/o the fuss of being directly in the city center.

    rating25 Jan 2024

While the outside isn’t much to look at, we very much enjoyed our room and our stay. Our room was an L-shaped “suite” on an inside corner. All room fixtures were comfortable and the bedding was pleasant. The room was quiet. Since this was a winter time stay, we were quite comfortable; but I’m not sure if I’d feel the same when it’s warm out since there isn’t any A/C (which, of course, is typical in Germany and Europe). The daily breakfast buffet was good and plentiful. There were cold cuts and cheese; a variety of breads; cereals and yogurt; vegan options; and a hot selection of Weißwurst, Nürnberger Wurst, bacon, baked beans, hard cooked eggs, and scrambled eggs. Since the breakfast was included in our rate, I have absolutely nothing to complain about. The service staff was quick and friendly. Parking is free and directly in front of the building. I’d say that parking is plentiful, with the caveat that the lot is shared with a swimming club, a ticket office for FC Nürnberg, and training facilities for the FC. We didn’t have a problem, but I could see there being issues at times. Not sure about the local bus service, but there is a bus stop almost directly in front of the hotel. I found the location to be convenient to everything we wanted. There are plenty of local restaurants and shopping opportunities; the Altstadt is only 15-20mins by car; the FC 1 stadium is only a couple of minutes by car; the Franken Center shopping center is about 10mins away.

    Buyer beware

    rating19 Sept 2023

The Hotel was clean, and the staff seem to care, but management show they are greedy. The room has a weird cane chair which seems to take a lot of space, and is not much use, but that's a decoration issue. Other clients seemed to agree. I thought the breakfast was good, and sufficient, coffee machine worked well. This seems like a good hotel, but their greed gets in the way. Air conditioning did not function, windows don't open properly, and discussion with other clients seemed to be a common issue. Room key needed to be reset on a daily basis. Fresh towels needed to be requested on a daily basis. They have no kettle, no fridge, no toiletries. Purchase of a miniature bottle of lemonade, (smallest bottle I've ever seen) will cost you Euro 3.50 and no prices are marked, so you've opened it before realizing. Just get a vending machine, with proper sized drinks, then customers know how much. The bar has high prices too, but there is a pizza shop and several other places which charge half of what they do.
