    Fabulous hotel in the center of Bamberg. The hotel has a lot of charm, beautiful decoration, high ceilings, friendly staff, underground parking and a splendid breakfast with high attention to detail. Just the coffee is subpar. Highly recommended over all. I would not hesitate to come back. Top tip is the nearby pub and restaurant the Pelikan.     Hotel located in a former Hospital

    Hotel is located near the Michaelsberg with extensive grounds. It was the former hospital with a grand main building and extensive wings . We were located in a far away corner room. There’s parking onsite for €20 (can come and go for 24 hours) . Room is spacious with plenty of facilities. Close to the main sights across the river. Rate included breakfast which was very extensive including sausages, salmon, cheese and even bubbly. Highly recommended.     So you book a room in a supposedly nice hotel and when you arrive on a muggy day you discover that there is no airconditioning in the room. Even with the windows wide open we were very uncomfortable. Furthermore the street noise, loud cars, was horrible!     Undertrained staff but beautiful view outside

    Beautiful outside. Not good for value overall.The service is poor. Staff can’t figure out what went wrong with my reservation and took 30 mins to find it eventually. Also they are not very helpful when explaining the amenities. I had to ask twice how to open the gym door from the reception staff to get clear instructions regarding how I can get who to open the door. Breakfast selection is mediocre and very hectic. The room looks dated. No AC. Also beds are very short. I don’t know how an average German guy can sleep well on it as it is short even for me (5’10). But the location is great and it is a beautiful building.     A good choice in Bamberg

    Very nice hotel, converted from a hospital. Quiet location, our room overlooked the river. Spacious rooms, good restaurant and very friendly and helpful staff. Underground secure parking and a short walk into the town. No air conditioning in our room, but a fan was provided ( no A/C seems to be the norm for German hotels) . The breakfast buffet was particularly impressive.
