Absolutely stunning!When walking the town, you feel like you’re in a fairytale. Just magical!We stayed at the hotel Eisenhut! Could not be more pleased. We had a huge room with all the amenities. Little notes upon arrival to welcome us. Treated to a special birthday breakfast. Preferred table with candles, champagne, chocolate cake with berries and another candle, a special box of chocolate and a birthday card! We didn’t tell them it was my birthday. The only thing we can think of was that we had to complete a form when we arrived that included birthdate. The extra soecisl touches do help this hotel stand out.

A Picturesque Spot in Rothenburg o d Tauber

I had a wonderful two-night stay at the Eisenhut Hotel recently.The hotel is conveniently located in the pedestrianised zone of the old town. All the buildings in the area looked like they’re from a fairy tale picture book. The best time to wander around is 7.00am after sunrise. It is quiet, peaceful and such a joy to take photos without the massive crowd.I stayed in the Class Block (which means the old, unrenovated building) opposite the hotel’s main block. It has the old hardwood floor with a creaky sound when you stepped on it.The room size is good for one person, comes with generous wardrobe space and shelves, and to my surprise, old fashion pink marble on the bathroom wall. My room looks out to an internal courtyard and other rooms. An uninspiring view.I didn’t experience the loud church bell that many other reviewers mentioned.Breakfast was in a restaurant filled with characters. I sat below a beam with some interesting writings (in high German), which roughly translates to mean that the host provides good hospitality and the guests are well behaved (I think). The breakfast restaurant offers the usual cold and warm selections.Eisenhut Hotel is centrally located, easy to explore all the sights on foot.The staff are friendly and helpful. Erikson at the Agnes Stuberl Restaurant was patient and took the time to explain the choices available when I arrived quite late in the evening.Jessa and Marina at the front desk gave me good advice on train bookings. Marina, in particular, passed me a contact at the train station to approach for help, when my train to Leipzig was cancelled. I’m grateful for their help.Overall I had a wonderful stay and will recommend Eisenhut Hotel.Note: Rothenburg is a small town and you may not be able to flag a taxi easily. I arrived by train at night and was surprised that there was no taxi outside the station. If you have a heavy bag and if you arrive at night, it is advisable to book a pick up service beforehand.

If you don’t mind a church bell ringing every hour on the hour overnight with no way to muffle it because the lack of air conditioning prevents you from closing the windows, then by all means enjoy the central location. They also don’t pick up the chairs and tables in front of the hotel, so if your room faces the street, you also have noise from people that just hang out there all night.

Everything about Hotel Eisenhut was wonderful. The room was clean and comfortable, the staff was very helpful, the location was ideal, and the breakfast was delicious.

Lovely stay in a character hotel

Lovely character hotel right in the centre of Rothenburg. We stayed in part of the hotel across the road and went across to the main building for breakfast. The rooms were basic but clean and spacious. The shower wasn’t brilliant over the bath. The breakfast was very nice, a good choice of everything. The decor of the restaurant and breakfast room was beautiful. The staff were welcoming and friendly. I would recommend this hotel.
