    Beautiful, Older Hotel that's completely modern inside

    Lovely older hotel that has charm and has been completely renovated so rooms are modern. Decor is high end. Spacious rooms, updated bathroom, spotlessly clean. Located few steps from the wall surrounding the town. Great breakfast. Quiet. Although the space was lovely, our suite did not have blackout curtains -we had a terrace - I would suggest Blackouts to limit morning light. Also, decor is beautiful but design of the bathroom offers no privacy and it's impossible to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night and not wake the other person as the light automatically clicks on and the design of the bathroom door sheds light in the rest of the room. Another thing that seems to be the norm in Germany - no top sheet and just a comforter with a lightweight cover. When warmer, the comforter is entirely too warm. A top sheet would solve this. AS a light sleeper, I wouldn't stay again unless I knew we could book another room that doesn't have these issues.

    Villa Mittermeier Alter Ego

    We stayed at the Alter Ego , which is the charcoal building at end. We were given free upgrades by the hotel which was very nice. The room was big and modern. It had a small tv room with a swing . The shower was fantastic! Huge and it had a rainfall shower heads . The biggest plus was the air conditioning, which we missed greatly during our trip. Common kitchen was big and great. It had everything you need to make a meal. The hotel has a Michelin's star restaurant on site, but we didn’t try. I would recommend to anyone and definitely stay again

    We had an amazing experience here. Not only was the food absolutely delicious, but the service was outstanding as well. I would especially like to give Maya the praise she truly deserves. Only 18 years old and already so professional, while also having the social skills to serve people at such a high level — and all in English, considering we are tourists. Having worked in hospitality myself for many years, I can honestly say: the restaurant and hotel may have a star, but Maya deserves one all on her own as well! Respect! ??

    This hotel is so nice! The room was lovely and comfortable. The breakfast was great. The staff are so friendly and helpful. I wish I got the name of the Hungarian woman at the front desk. She was so sweet. And her English was amazing! The location can not be beat. Unfortunately, when we were there the restaurant was closed.

    My wife and I stayed here for our drive of the Romantic Road and thoroughly enjoyed our experience! The hotel’s exterior was charming, it was uniquely decorated and the staff was friendly. Our room was clean and very spacious, with a nice town tower view from the window seat. It’s located just outside the city walls, so it’s the perfect short distance to walk and explore this quaint town on foot! We can’t recommend a visit to this amazing town enough - it was our favourite place we visited in Germany, and we would absolutely stay at the wonderful Villa Mittermeier again!
