  Avoid at any cost worst place to stay had the worst night of me life , rude and not responsible staff , had to leave without checking in and no refund was made I will not recommend any one to book , I had to sleep with my 1 year old baby on the car and not able to find hotel anywhere else as they were Fully booked

  I strongly urge travelers to avoid this hotel. My experience was unacceptable on every level.At 4 a.m., I discovered bed bugs in my room and immediately went to the front desk. The overnight staff was rude, dismissive, and completely unbothered. I was told there were no other rooms available and that nothing could be done — no apology, no concern, and no help offered.Later that morning at 9 a.m., I spoke with another employee who first insisted that bed bugs were “impossible.” When I showed him clear photos, he instantly admitted, “Yeah, we have bed bugs,” as if it was no big deal. There was no urgency, no accountability, and zero professionalism.This property is clearly failing basic sanitation and customer service standards. The staff’s attitude was as disturbing as the infestation itself.If you value cleanliness, safety, and respect, do not stay here. There are many hotels in Athens — choose one that actually cares about guest well-being.Stayed: September 2025Proof provided to staff.

  Absolutely Horrible Experience – Avoid at All Costs

  I wouldn’t recommend Achillion Hotel in Athens to my worst enemy. This place ruined our entire holiday and left us with memories we’d rather forget.First and most horrifying: we found bedbugs in our room, and they bit my mother so severely, she couldn’t sleep for nights and had allergic reactions. We reported it immediately, and the receptionist said that those bites looks like the mosquito bites. Well, it turned out really fast that this wasn’t mosquito bites. This alone should be enough to make you think twice, but sadly, that was just the beginning. The entire hotel reeks of stale cigarette smoke, even in non-smoking areas. It felt like nothing had been properly cleaned or maintained in years. The mattress was stained with urine or other questionable substances, clearly never cleaned or replaced. The location is terrible – it’s in one of the worst and most unsafe districts in Athens. Just a few steps from the entrance and you’re surrounded by homeless people and drug users loitering on the sidewalks. We felt genuinely unsafe, especially at night, and would never have stayed there had we known what the area was really like.To make matters worse, on our second night at 2 AM, the fridge a fridge in the room of one of our tour participants literally exploded due to how ancient and poorly maintained it was. You could smell freon or some kind of gas two floors below. It was terrifying and could’ve ended far worse. The only slightly acceptable part was the food, but even that couldn’t make up for the horror of the rest of our stay. Do yourself a favor – spend a little more and stay somewhere safer, cleaner, and actually deserving of being called a hotel.

  We were there twice during our trip. First I had a room on the 5th floor. Second time my room was on the 2nd floor. It was a totally different experience. The last room was renovated. The one on the 5th floor was still old, not looking good, bad bathroom. But for both the airconditioning wasn’t working well (loud) and also the hotel is located in a very loud neighbourhood (traffic) and a lot of drugs and homeless people. But most say that the staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall not the place I would recommend to stay when you’re in Athena

  Just lower your expectations

  Exoticca selected this hotel 3 times for us and it was a disappointment. The staff is rude. Didn't even welcome us to the Hotel. The mens washroom was out of use. The Aircon on the second stay was not working. Many of the other people we were traveling with had the same problem. The 3rd stay the elevator was not working and we were staying 9 floors with 2 weeks worth of luggage. The Area is a homeless drug den. We saw people injecting however none of them seem to bother the tourist so it is unsightly but it didn't seem too unsafe. The rooms we got were clean. The Exoticca selection for us was simply atrocious and this wasn't to worse we got. So I would say if you go athens/greece just have very low expectations. Sometimes I had the feeling the place was as old as the acropolis
