    Cancelation of booking in the middle of the night for no reason by Athens Coast Hotel

    Would higly recomend NOT to stay at Athens Coast Hote. We booked 2 rooms 2 months in advance with cancelation option. 10 days prior to our stay hotel cancelled our booking - reason: wrong credit card number(?!?). As we all know - you cannot get booking confirmed if you register wrong credit card number. They just sent email at 3 o'clock after midnight saying that we have 6 hours to correct credit card number. 6 hours later was booking cancelled and we were not aware of this at all. After we found out what happened we called the hotel, but got no help - just advised to contact their reservation desk the day after during regular working hours. We sent therefor email same evening asking for the reason and explanation as there was nothing wrong with our credit card number. We also asked them to reactivate our booking but received no answer. So, here we were - 10 days before we should celebrate 60th birthday of our friend in Athens we had no hotel booking. This is simply hotel booking manipulation in addition to extrem arrogance that we would like to worn everybody considering to stay at Athens Coast Hotel.

    Room was infested with mosquitos. The staff claimed the hotel was fully booked and refused to provide us with another room or refund us. Avoid this hotel at all costs

    We booked a night here at the end of our travelling, away from Athens and nearer to the airport to return home.The hotel is very well located, just a very short walk from many restaurants, bars, shops and the tram. Definitely an upmarket area with many European brand names (Zara, Jo Malone). Our room was quiet with a modern bathroom, tea coffee making facilities and complimentary water in the fridge. We arrived on a Sunday so it was fairly quiet around the hotel, come Monday morning it was full on construction at the property next door. We were told that they work solidly for 8 hours, not on a Sunday. Luckily our room was on the opposite of the hotel so we didn't hear anything in the morning.The area around the pool is very pleasant, the breakfast staff were very helpful cooking me a beautiful omelette to order - the breakfast offered a good choice for everyone.The reception staff were very pleasant and helpful with a friendly welcome.Positive: location, location, locationNegative: there is construction work next door
