  Great Athens base for a family of 5

  Brilliant for our family of 5! Stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment & the sofa bed was already made up for us when we arrived. Communication was great - we arrived in Athens early so we're able to drop our bags off at the apartments and then go and explore. They apartment itself was huge, modern & had so many bonus amenities - they even provided washing pods for the washing machine 😀 Our kids loved having robes to wear up to the pool too haha. Travelling with 3 children in the August heat, we specifically wanted a place with a pool.and the roof top pool serve it's purpose for us - you even get a view of the acropolis which was amazing! There are 4 sunbeds and some chairs squeezed onto the terrace too. Central location and about 3 mins walk to the nearest metro station (and that was with a 4 year old in town!) Little coffee & snack shops on the way too. Overall, a brilliant stay & would definitely recommend!

  My family of 5 stayed in a 2 bed apt and it was great. The apartment was clean, communication was very straight forward in terms of checking in etc. and the staff were exceptionally friendly. The roof top pool is an added bonus! If I were to be a stickler, I’d say the pool could do with a little refurb and perhaps pool towels could be included but that is all very minor in the bigger scheme of things.

  This is our second time at this hotel, which we picked for the rooftop pool option.Lots of positives …1/ well maintained and very clean2/ spacious option for families are available3/ friendly staff4/ nice poolA few improvement points …1/ it’s strange to have a huge terrace, but no furniture… it’s hard to use is the are no sinners, tables etc2/ the area where it’s located is a bit worn-down, but on a positive note then you are not straight in the touristic center, however you have to pass through areas with drug addicts if you want to walk back at night. We felt more safe just getting a taxiAll in all it’s a good place to stay for families

  WARNING ⚠️ DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL.I booked this hotel yesterday on booking.com, I paid €230 Euros for 2 nights, I arrived in the pouring rain on my motorcycle with my dog, when I could eventually contact someone regarding trying to enter the building as there is no reception and I was given no access code, I was informed that they had to cancel my booking due to them overbooking my apartment.I had to find alternative accommodation myself late at night in Athens in the pouring rain, on motorcycle with dog, and still no refund, I’m told this could take 12 days.Their underground car park is extremely dangerous, the ramp down is a very wet and steep spiral path, at least 75 degrees, upon leaving my motorcycle was not able to get up the ramp due to the steep pitch and because it’s wet, and it tipped over and fell on to me, there is no assistance at this site.After speaking to the very rude management, who hung up on the phone to me after stating it’s not their problem, I would strongly advise not to book this property and go elsewhere.Also the location is very bad and unsafe, whilst I sat outside the property fixing my motorcycle and trying to find alternative accommodation late at night I was harassed by many gypsies and homeless people trying to steal bags off my motorcycle, one man stole my jacket. I have since been advised that this is a very dangerous area in Athens. Β) Kindly note that the facilities operate under all necessary licenses and certifications, therefore your allegations and accusations are absolutely inaccurate and false.Γ) The building is spotlessly maintained, while all of the equipment of the latest technology has been purchased within 2024. Δ) The location of the property, belongs to the center of Athens, significantly popular among tourists-visitors of the capital. The municipality police patrols through the entire region at all times. As you can understand we are in no position of knowing whether your jacket was stolen, however it is a fact that such an unfortunate incident could occur at any area of the city, or even any city or island, if your belongings were not properly attended.Ε) It goes without saying, that our guests’ convenience is our number one priority, which is why we would be more than happy to assist in finding an alternative accommodation with a similar cost, however your behavior towards our staff made it impossible to do so and achieve any proper and efficient communication with you.   Athens Mosaico Hotel... the good and bad

  Good and bad...The Good... the rooms were excellent, we had a 5th floor apartment, 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths and 1 half bath, a full kitchen and living room, wrap around deck outside, washing machine, plenty of room and storage, safes in each closet. Alexandra at the front desk was very good. She came up to the room to show us how to operate the washer and the A/C and got us an extra clothes rack for drying our wash. She offered apologies for the problems we had run into. Alexandra also was helpful in scheduling us our rides to the airport.Now the bad... First...the area around the hotel is very sketchy. It is not at all a comfortable place to walk around, and thankfully we did not have to go out at night. At check- in we were told the credit card system was down and not expected to be fixed for a couple of days. They wanted full payment in cash for our 3 night stay. We arrived after 5pm and did not have enough cash. We were told there was an ATM around the corner from the hotel, but our ATM withdrawals are limited daily. The manager was insistent that we pay in full. He spoke in Greek to Alexandra who had to deliver his demands to us. When we explained our situation to her, she was sympathetic. We had enough cash to pay for the first night, and the manager wanted us to pay the remaining 2 day balance the next day . We still would not be able to pay the full amount for the 2 days as we were heading out at 6am for a full day trip to Santorini and would not be returning until after 9pm, when the front desk is not staffed. Alexandra explained that to the manager. He didn't seem happy about it, but he finally agreed. We paid another 3rd on the third day.On our final day, we took the elevator down from the 5th floor to go out for breakfast and on coming back, Alexandra was at the desk, so we paid the remaining balance. At which point, she told us the elevators were broken. We had to walk up to our room, get our bags and carry them down to the lobby for our ride to the airport. We had 3 large, heavy bags, and 3 medium sized bags. Alexandra let us put the bags by the desk so she could watch them, while we climbed back up to the 5th floor to get the rest of our bags. It is not good service that they have only one person staffing the front desk, especially at check-out time. I am sure there are some people who would need assistance with their bags and the front desk clerk should not be the only person available to help them. Once we got all our bags downstairs, the elevator was repaired....LOL!
