  Rock by Be My Guest - Spacious apartment but lacked even the basics

  We stayed at the Rock by Be My Guest apartment which turned out to be a basement suite. Spacious 2 bedroom with a kitchen but lacked basic essentials. The Wi-Fi didn't work. One bathroom had a near empty bottle of shampoo, the other had nothing. It was a good thing we had brought some with us. No soap in the kitchen. Cigarette burns in the furniture. There was no running hot water from the showers after testing (hot and cold) for several minutes. Only after we contacted the main reception did the temperature rise. It is relatively close to the Acropolis but in a rundown neighborhood.

  Petite apartment basic and not comfortable

  We stayed in the Petite apartment, which has two bedrooms, living/dining space and a small kitchen. The location was great, with attractions and restaurants within walking distance. The apartment was clean and housekeeping was done daily, which we appreciated. However, the amenities were quite basic, so overall we did not find it very comfortable.It was advertised as four-star accommodation but did not feel like that. The décor and furnishings were basic and cheaply finished, more like slightly upgraded student accommodation than a 4-star apartment. It lacked natural light, and the lighting throughout was harsh white rather than warm, which made the space feel less inviting.The bathroom was not very practical. There was only one hook for towels and nowhere else to keep them, and there was not even a toilet-roll holder. The shower had a curtain, which was not very clean and made the space feel quite basic.The kitchen was usable but missing many essentials, like no handwashing liquid, no chopping board, worn non-stick pans, no cooking utensils and no cleaning spray. The lack of these items made self-catering inconvenient.The biggest issue was the lack of soundproofing. The apartment is right next to a busy street with constant traffic and motorcycles, and I could not sleep without earplugs.For a four-star rated apartment, we expected more comfort and attention to detail. I hope the owners give a bit more attention to what would provide more convenience and comfort to the visitors because with better equipment, warmer lighting and improved soundproofing, it could offer great accommodation in a great location.   Fair option in central Athens

  Convenient positioned, close to metro, restaurants and tourist attractions. Small rooms, but ok for short stays. Decent breakfast, you can also opt for a "breakfast to go" solution, they'll be ready to prepare it for you. Very good Quality vs. Price ratio. If you do not have very high expectations it can become a good solution for visiting Athens.   Excellent in every way.

  I just had to write a review before we are checking out in two days. Very happy with this place. We are in the apartment which is so beautiful. It is a one minute walk from the hotel. You check into the hotel and walk to it. Love the area. So many cute restaurants and bakeries. We are gaining weight here because food is so good and so many places to choose from. Walking distance to Acropolis. Breakfast is so good and healthy. Staff is amazingly nice. This place is spotless. My only complaint which is common in Greece, is that the shower is hand held but just gotta adjust to it. And it is quiet at night even tho there is a bar next door to us. These walls must be thick as I hear not a word from outside.   Great location to restaurants, grocery stores and of course the Acropolis. The staff were fantastic and so helpful during our stay. Breakfast is perfect and had a good variety.I would highly recommend and would stay again.
