  Comfy, cozy, convenient and suitable.

  If you want ultimate comfort, private luxury or huge rooms, this is probably isnt your space. However, if you want to be in the heart of athens near Plaka (some quieter area), near metro and able to access the city with ease this location is hard to beat. Its also a place of convenience. We were only here two nights before heading to Crete, we wanted to explore athens, do some tours, but more importantly have quick and convenient access to food, drink and a comfy bed. We stayed on the 4th floor and LOVED the convenience of going upstairs on the roof deck for some of our meals and a night cap. Staff were excellent and very attentive to needs. There was a 12 euro breakfast deal for guests that was a good value. The room we had was the acropolis suite, it was cozy, functional and had a very comfortable bed. We did not experience really much noise and for the price and roofdeck convenience we cannot complain. We reccomend Ciel athens for anyone looking for convenience, a proper room and prime location.

  Good budget hotel in prime location

  Situated in Monastiraki the Ciel Living offers a prime tourist location for the Athens explorer. Everything you can wish for is more or less around the corner. The hotel has its own roof top bar which was pretty popular. Also, there is a grill restaurant/snackbar on the groundfloor. There they serve really tasty suvlaki, kebab and gyros. The Check-InThe check-in was one of the better ones I had had travelling the world. The lady at check-in was super friendly and helpful and gave us valuable information on the hotel, the area and directions on how to go here and there. 10/10 experience! The RoomThe room had a big bed, a small table with a coffee machine, a luggage rack, a few clothes hangers in an open kinda wardrobe solution, an extra chair and a little hotel safe for your valuables. The room (303) was of decent size, but more on the smaller side. The bed was very comfy and just hard enough for a good nights sleep. There was one tree trunk on each side of the bed serving as night stands, and the color scheme was held in warm, earthy color tones. I really liked it. All in all, the room was functional and pleasent. The bathroom was alright. But beware when taking a shower. Water easily finds its way onto the bathroom floor as one side of the shower is completely open. And remember: in Greece used toilet paper goes in the bin and not in the toilet. The real issue with the room was the noise of traffic and people below in the street. The room seems to be poorly insulated which left me waking up a few times when I would rather have been asleep. Now the question is: would I stay there again? Well, that is a difficult one. I liked the hotel and loved the location. Value for money was very good, but the noise situation might put me off from staying there again.

  The city center location near the Cathedral and Monastiraki is ideal. Rooftop breakfast was nice. Service was excellent, and reception staff were very helpful.

  Location is central, convenient for Metro and some main attractions such as the Acropolis.Reception was helpful, with good restaurant recommendations.Room is basic. Doesn’t even have a conventional kettle, which I thought should be standard.

  Disappointing - Poor Management

  I am writing to express my disappointment regarding a recent stay at Ceil Living Athens. While the location was good, my experience was significantly marred by issues with the staff and management.Towards the end of our five-day stay, we encountered a rude and petty reception staff member named Eirini. We subsequently encountered her at the rooftop bar with another person who introduced himself as the manager. When we attempted to address our concerns with him, he was defensive (I asked his name and his answer was "what's your name?") It became clear that the management might be the problem here. We later discovered the he was not the hotel manager. He called the hotel manager at our request, Despoina Kanari, who was off duty and stated that we could speak with her the following morning after she returned to work. I guess there isn't any hotel manager available for assistance after business hours.The next morning, having received no response to an email I previously sent inquiring about shuttle service due to a taxi strike, we were informed that Ms. Kanari would not be available until after 10 AM, which was past our checkout time. I sent another email respectfully requesting a response regarding the previous evening's issues, but again, received no reply. It has been several weeks, and I still have not received any communication.I have noted other reviews online that also highlight poor management, particularly after hours, suggesting this is a recurring problem. This is truly a shame, as the hotel has potential. While we enjoyed the rest of our trip to Greece, we will be sure to find other accommodations for future visits. I recommend you do the same.
