  Top notch hostel- great for a family

  We stayed in the Superior Quadruple Room, which has a lofted area with two double beds where our kids stayed. The room was well appointed, with comfortable beds, a well-functioning modest size bathroom and a good amount of space. The entire building is clean and well maintained. You must ring or use a keycard to enter from the street at all times, a helpful security measure. Breakfast was a good value (we signed up for the promo of 8EUR/pp upon check-in) and a nice way to start the day. There's a game room and spacious common area, and the kitchen is available for guest use outside of breakfast hours. The location is great-- an easy walk to restaurants and sites-- and the staff were friendly and helpful.The negatives:The windows are not very sound insulating, so some street noise can be heard. Luckily it wasn't too loud, but this would be a great improvement.The railing from the loft area has a lot of space between spindles, such that a child's head could easily fit through, making me anxious. It would be much better if they added spindles to increase safety. Overall a great place at a reasonable price. We would stay again.   More Boutique Hotel Than Hostel

  I stayed at City Circus Athens when I travelled to Athens for a study tour. I arrived a day early and left two days late, so I needed accommodation outside of my student housing and chose City Circus based on its excellent online reviews, and it absolutely lived up to them.After a long-haul flight, I initially regretted booking a dorm and enquired about switching to a private room. Luckily, as it was winter and a quiet period, I ended up being the only person in the four-bed women’s dorm anyway. The room had its own bathroom, everything was immaculately clean, and the whole building has a modern renovation. The bathrooms even have hairdryers, which I wasn't expecting at a hostel. The gentleman at reception was incredibly polite, well spoken, and spoke excellent English. I was so impressed with my first stay that I returned for my final two nights in Athens and booked one of the private budget rooms on the subfloor. Again, it was spotless. They were also able to book me a taxi to the airport. During an extreme weather warning, I chose to have breakfast there rather than venture out, and it was decent. The common lounge and dining areas are stylishly furnished and feel welcoming.I honestly couldn’t believe how affordable it was. I’ve never stayed in hostels before (in Australia they tend to have a very different reputation) but this felt far more like what we’d call a "boutique hotel" back home. The price was probably a quarter of what you’d pay in Australia for even a basic budget hotel.Such a cool place. I can absolutely see why it’s considered the best hostel in Athens. I would definitely recommend/and stay here again next time I visit.   Great place for a short and longer stay

  I traveled with my adult san and stayed in a twin room. Location is perfect, a quiet street in bustling Monastiraki. Interior design is just how I like it, as on pictures. Cleaning service, towels change every day. Well equipped kitchen, cozy lobby, evening activities, rooftop, bakery shop and coffee next door.   Fantastic stay! So clean and such a warm friendly atmosphere. It was quiet in the dorms too despite the fab location. I would highly recommend this hostel.
