  Overall nice, quiet hotel with friendly and welcoming staff both at the front desk and in the restaurant. Positives - Quiet, spacious hotel- Friendly staff - High quality and varied breakfast - Good location Requires Improvement - Rooms have a dated feel and a “smoked in” smell to them which is hard to ignore - Smoke alarm positioned directly above the bed and blinks / flashes red 24/7 - Rooftop pool is very small and right next to the restaurant.   Good hotel if attending the Megaron International conference centre.

  I booked this hotel because I was attending a 3 day conference at the Megaron International conference centre and it was 10 minute walk away and also an 8 minute walk from the metro line 3 stop Megaron Moussiki and the hotel also had a gym and a pool.The staff were pleasant & helpful, the breakfast buffet was ample and fresh with a view over the city. If the restaurant is full, it can take some time to get tea/coffee. The beds were comfy, the showers were hot. The rooms are dated, as per the photos with a lot of dark wood and red. I found them quite stuffy so had to open the window for fresh air but then would get loads of road noise. I did find the rooms quiet to sleep in though.I used the gym in the basement once; a good enough workout for a 3 day trip though a bit soulless. I also used the sauna which was clean and hot enough. I didn't use the rooftop pool; it looked tiny and I didn't like the thought of going through the restaurant to get there.It is only 2 stops on the metro line 3 to Syntagma Square so I found the hotel ideally placed for my needs and didn't feel unsafe as a single lady walking between the subway and the hotel later in the evening.   My Second Time

  Crowne Plaza Athens City Center is what it’s called. I like this hotel and it is my second time staying at this hotel. I wouldn’t say it’s in the city center. Otherwise, why is it necessary to take either a cab or the train to get to the city center? However, there are many nice bakeries and restaurants near the hotel. There’s also two grocery stores within walking distance. I’ve been to all the bakeries and some of the restaurants. Particularly the bread factory that’s not only the biggest pastry shop you’ve ever seen, but also serves the best moussaka that’s enough for two. As for the hotel, the staff is very welcoming and friendly breakfasts are delicious and the rooms are very clean and the beds are comfortable. Thankfully, they have two elevators some places don’t. Monitoring plans starting a day that’s why we made it a lot.   Absolutely Perfect ~ apart from Greener Stay Failure

  Had a truly amazing stay at this hotel from start to finish.The Suite allocated was great, lovely spacious corner balcony, stocked mini bar, mini safe, massive comfortable bed, dressing robes, lots of wardrobe space and drawers. Comfortable sofas and chairs. Ambiant lighting was a great touch. The room was scrupulously clean soon as we arrived. I would have liked a power shower and cubicle but a flimsy shower hose over the bath had to do. That said, this wouldn't stop me returning, just a thought for improvements in future.The only reason for full marks on the review was the failure to award Greener Stay points despite not getting room cleaned for 4 nights and despite leaving card on the door to advise and despite asking repeatedly on last day about the failure of this, still nothing ever was credited. This issue needs to be addressed for future guests otherwise the scheme will not work.The hotel had a lovely Club Lounge on the 6th floor, the snacks, and drinks were available all day. A lovely outdoor terrace from the lounge was also a bonus. The restaurant on the top floor had great selection of hot and cold items on the buffet.You can request items of food such as poached eggs, omlette etc and made to order. Staff were very professional, attentive and friendly.The nearest metro to the hotel is Magaro Moussikis which is on the blue line and is approximately 5 minutes walk away.Plenty of shops and restaurants in abundance surrounding the hotel.This is ideal place to be for hustle and bustle of vibrant Athens.Private Return Transfers to and from International Airport cost under 80 euros. Taxis in general are cheap, they accept card payments and give you a receipt.   Great overnight stay.

  Absolute superb overnight stay. Arrived around 10 am. We’d booked a junior suite but we were upgraded to an executive suite which was absolutely huge and magnificent. We were in the room within 10 minutes. The hotel is in walking distance of the major sites 40 minutes to the acropolis and 20 minutes walk to plaka. Don’t miss the Olympic stadium and the national gardens and the palace on the walk. If you don’t want to walk the metro is 5 minutes away. Which also takes you right into the airport at a cost of €9 each. We had access to the club room which was stocked with alcoholic and soft drinks and snacks pretty much 24/7. Breakfast was included in the price and again was very good. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Plenty of bars ,cafes and restaurants within a short walk. Great option for a short stay in Athens.
