  Mediocre experience for the price, beware shady hotel policy

  This hotel is quite average, but they will still nickel and dime you for your entire stay. We were sent here from a cancelled flight, so it didn’t cost us anything to stay. However, the entire time we were here they tried to charge us with additional fees. They ended up charging us $52 for a glass of champagne (???).The hotel is a chain, so it’s a series of separate buildings under one hotel name. We were sent to one of the external hotels instead of the main building. When we first got to the room, the AC was broken, and our shower was also missing body wash and shampoo. In addition, we very clearly had three people at the front desk, but our room only had one bed; and when we requested accommodation, we received an uncomfortable cot to sleep on. I get that we didn’t pay for the room, but it was still a terrible experience to get up early after sleeping on that. I wouldn’t say that the room was particularly luxurious. It was quite mediocre in terms of hotels. I think they use the main building to mask the quality of the other hotels. Their towel service is a particularly silly system that I imagine is set up poorly on purpose to get more money out of guests. At the beginning of your stay, you are given a small business card size piece of paper for each guest, which you have to give to the towel concierge to get pool towels. If you do not get these cards back, or if they are lost, damaged, etc. the hotel assumes you took out the towels without retuning them and will charge you 20€ for each towel. Overall this hotel really isn’t much of a luxury unless you’re staying in the main (most expensive) building. If they put you in one of the external rooms, you will have to pay extra fees for pretty much every service that you would be entitled to at a normal hotel. Beware the minibar, our pricing sheet in the room was not updated, and it displayed incorrect prices, which is how we ended up paying so much for one glass of champagne.If I were traveling to this area, I would find a boutique hotel or AirBNB, you can get more out of those for the same price and save your money compared to this “luxury resort”.   The hotel has no soul. It is lifeless and empty. It has no personality. The reception staff sit behind their desk and were pleasant enough. The room (superior double) was ok. The bed was comfy. The shower was over a small bath and difficult to use with water temperature fluctuations. The housekeeping took 3 of my face towels and a hair towel. This was not resolved. I had to keep asking for refill of coffee and creamer. The breakfast was ok. On the fourth morning i asked for poached eggs as the eggs on offer were most likely sat there for 2 hours and hard. Coffee was good. The staff were nice. You cannot swim in the pool as it is too small. The most disappointing part of my holiday was not being able to use the facilities of their sister hotel across the road. Unless you paid over €85 per person per day. For the use of a swimming pool!!! The location is ok. Close to the bus stop and a handful of seafood cafes. Food and drink in the hotel is over priced 2 glasses of house wine with a soda, €42. The chap working the bar was pleasant. Overall, not a holiday vacation hotel. Good for a business over night stay. Not 5 star, no wow factor.   Loved the fluffy robes and helpful front desk. Breakfast had so many choices! We loved the access to Apollon Beach. Room service Moussaka Anne Tiramisu were delicious.   Having read some of the negative reviews we were a little concerned about the accommodation. The hotel however is excellent, rooms clean and the breakfast was good with plenty of choices. Staff friendly and helpful. Good location close to the beach and restaurants.
