  Perfect for a two day visit to Athens

  The Elia Ermou is perfectly located close to restaurants, shopping and historic sights. The room was exceptional with a view of the the Acropolis l. The bed was comfortable and this was the nicest shower of any hotel we have stayed for quite some time. The staff was also very friendly and helpful. Finally the rooftop restaurant has a terrific view of the Acropolis. The restaurant TAZZA across the ally had great drinks and food. Try the Greek salad there. We highly recommend this hotel.   Incredible gem of a hotel in a perfect location

  Overnight stay on our way to Crete, but my goodness, what a stay! We had a balcony with view of the Acropolis. The evening view with it lit up is spectacular. The hotel is located in a small enclave of sidewalk cafes and restaurants, very convenient for lunch and dinner. However, dining and/or drinking at the rooftop Elysium is a must. Reservations recommended for dinner, but not necessary for the bar. The rooms are well appointed, have plenty of Type C outlets, and a wonderful shower. Our room lacked a bidet but included a handheld spray. This is critical as they discourage flushing tissue paper, preferring to discard in the waste basket. Finally, the staff are multilingual, and very patient with my elementary Greek - happy to help me practice!   An excellent location

  This hotel is in an excellent location with an easy walk to many stores/restaurants and sites. Despite being on a busy street, it was very quiet. The room was spacious, and the staff was very helpful with recommendations . The only down side is that the sink is in the center of the room making it difficult if one person gets up earlier than the other. I used the gym, and it is ok, but could be made better with removal of old equipment. We traveled with a couple who stayed at a more expensive hotel, and this was far superior. I would stay again whenever we are in Athens.   Currently staying at the hotel and am pleased with the location. Everything else is just average and not worth paying 300€ a night. The AC is remotely controlled from the reception desk and they will manage the settings to their likings. Unacceptable. Our room, for some reason is extremely hot, so hot you couldn’t sleep with the duvet, and no chance to settle the AC to cool the room to an agreeable temperature. The reception, far from being friendly. I’d expect an apology and not a lecture starting with the line “what my colleague tries to explain…” it’s simply unacceptable to manipulate my room setting. Or if you feel you’re entitled to do so it’s a must inform your customers about such practices. The breakfast is of good quality and has a wide variety of food including local dishes. Instant powder scrambled eggs - a no go for me. It’s a packed hall, not enough space to walk and super crowded most of the time. Servicing the coffee machine during breakfast hours is unbelievable ridiculous. Why? The music is at such a volume that guests need to talk loud which ruins a nice and calm breakfast time. The view however is amazing. The room besides the AC issues is nice, clean and spacious as you can expect at such rates.   Great Location, Very Poor Guest Experience

  Very disappointing hotel! Very disappointing stay. I specifically requested a quiet room and was placed directly opposite renovation works, waking up to construction noise early in the morning. After changing rooms, we then discovered faulty air conditioning in two separate rooms, including one midnight room move and a sleepless night due to the unit repeatedly shutting off. Staff were largely unhelpful and no real solution or compensation was offered afterward. Expected far better service and standards from a hotel with this reputation.
