  Not Luxury, Not Unique — Just Disappointing

  Avoid this place.I paid nearly $500 for 3 nights at the Penthouse Apartment. The first two nights were fine, but on the last night we had no running water — no drinking water, no shower, no toilet — and no notice.The “solution” offered was just 3 small bottles of water. The receptionist knew about the outage for hours but said nothing and disappeared when we returned at 10 p.m. Extremely unprofessional.For context: $500 for 3 nights is roughly one-third of the average monthly salary in Greece. This property heavily markets itself as a premium, luxury, and unique experience, but the way this situation was handled showed the exact opposite. My follow-up messages were completely ignored.Bottom line: if something goes wrong, they won’t have your back. There are plenty of better options in Athens — spend your money elsewhere.George

  Please do not book this place. Horrible experience. The worst I have ever had. In fact, miserable people. Everything was a battle. If you request the couch to be opened to a bed they refuse to put it back into a couch. So, there is no couch to sit on your entire stay. Only a bed. The employee said "it would be more work for me" to put it up each day. We were shocked. So, all four of us sat on the bed to watch tv. Weird. Unless of course we sat at an angle on the kitchen table which is what they told us to do. Yes, it gets stranger. We rented a second room. They refused to open the couch in that one because I booked it for two people. Forget about renting this for yourself and a friend. You both would have to sleep in the bed together. They told me that opening the couch to a bed in that room would be considered a roll away bed and I would have to pay the daily roll away bed fee. Absolutely crazy. One of the rooms had hair and dirt in the bed. We asked for new sheets to be put on. We were told only one person works in the evening and they couldn't leave the front desk to change the sheets. We had to clean the sheets ourselves. Yes, you read that right. See picture. Looney. The morning we left we asked for towels to shower before we left. We were asked why we needed towels since we were checking out. Madness. The experience was so miserable. If you want to be miserable too then book this place. Oh, let's not forget the construction outside at 7am and noise from area clubs.

  Wonderful Stay for a Family of Four

  This place is wonderful. First off, the staff is amazing and so welcoming. They go above and beyond to assist and offer suggestions regarding the area. Our room was not quite ready so we relaxed in a small comfortable lounge (with internet) until it was cleaned. This is not a large commercial property. It is a wonderful, vertical hole in the wall with comfortable up'ish scale rooms. This is not the Ritz, but is also not the Holiday Inn. It may not have a restaurant or a pool, but the one bedroom suite made up for it with space for a family and a location with numerous restaurants nearby. It is definitely walking distance to the old part of town.Due to the construction being completed around the property, the outside is a little underwhelming, but we had no doubts when we entered the front door.I definitely recommend this location for those looking for space in an area with entertainment options. I will stay again next time I am in Athens.

  Terrible, impossible to sleep due to enormous noise

  The bar next door played such a loud music (after midnight) that the floor on 5th floor was shaking! Completely impossible to sleep. I called the owner (there is no reception after 11pm) and he was rude, but he promissed to sort it out. When the music was still loud after half an hour, he was not picking up the phone anymore. Do NOT stay here!

  Saved us when stranded ! Amazing hotel

  We had booked an apartment with Booking.com and were let down at 21:30 on a friday night in Athens! We walked around and eventually came to Klepsydra who were supremely helpful and accomodated us at the last minute. During our stay we encountered such care and attention and the staff were so helpful and kind. We woud have to particularly note the reception staff namely Nicole (Nicolletta) who was so cheerful, helpful and kind to us during our stay. She is one of the most cheerful people I've met and an asset to the Klepsydra! The rooms are very clean, stylish and comfortable and contain all you need. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Athens and it is in a great location.
