    Right under the Acropolis!!

    rating21 May 2026

Absolutely gorgeous old mansion turned boutique hotel. Your hotel is right under the Acropolis, I don't believe you can get any closer. The only drawback is no elevator if you have a disability. Otherwise, perfect for most. Breakfast was scrumptious, and Angela was more than accommodating. The location is amazing. I love this place and would definitely stay there again.

Location is perfect but NOT a positive stay

    rating20 Oct 2025

Absolutely Perfect location, amazing view from rooftop , clean rooms, impossibly low bed, intermittent hot water or freezing water mid shower, all rooms require walking up steep precarious stairs, very nice breakfast from very nice staff but prepare to be woken up by the sound of plates and kitchen noise at 6:30 AM, no help with luggage. The constant rumbling noice from the subway line all night required ear plugs to get any sleep. Despite the perfect location if you are a light sleeper or have any mobility issue I’d stay elsewhere.

So close to everything in Athens.. The perfect spot.

I'm giving this "hotel" full marks but it has some quirks that potential guests need to be aware of. First the good. The rooms are safe, spotlessly clean, great bed, large by European Standards, mini fridge, fast WiFi, and a modern remodeled bathroom. The included breakfast is amazing (bacon, eggs, french toast, Greek salad, Greek rice pudding, coffee, juice, cakes and Greek cheese pie). Breakfast is served on the roof, which has an amazing view of the Parthenon. You are literally a 50 meter walk to the entrance of the Parthenon, maybe 100m to the Temple of Zeus. Upon check in we were presented with a complementary bottle of Greek wine which we enjoyed on the roof deck with amazing views. Now the quirks, there is no reception at this site so check in is a bit of a challenge. You are supposed to register online before you checked in and they will send you an access code, but we were on a cruise ship so that proved to be a challenge. We checked in, in person, with another couple and I think our rooms got mixed up as our room code was "deactivated" on day 2 of our 3 day reservation. This also "deactivated" the AC system in our room. But in both cases Staff were able to quickly and professionally resolve these challenges. I'm convinced that most of the issues were my fault, and that if we had checked in "online" (as per the directions) the issues would have been avoided. This is a nearly 150 year old building without an elevator, all of the rooms, but one, are up a flight of stairs, for us that added to the fun, but they are steep and narrow! We would definitely stay here again!

    Ok but not for me

    rating04 Sept 2025

It was ok. It depends what you are looking for. If you want just a place to sleep that is near acropolis and the town then its perfect. But its a tiny room and looks like someones bedroom at home not a hotelRoom. The plus is it is very clean. I dont like that there is no check in service. You are given a Temporary code toOpen the door then you can leave your luggage on this cramped hallway till your room is ready. It didn't feel safe there to me although i did leave it but had anxiety the whole time. Then you have to lug your luggage up these narrow stairs that curve. The breakfast was terrible i had milk that was expired and had to tell the matron that the milk was bad it was curdling in my coffee. I didn't like anything although i tried to eat what i could. The roof does have a great view of acropolis as the hotel is 2 minutes walking distance to the entrance. But there were these huge wasps that kept circling the food and i couldn't stay up there to finish eating. Now if you’re ok with a clean tight room to just lay your head at with barely any person to handle your reservation then this is the place for you especially since its so close to acropolis and restaurants and shops. However I like luxury i like to have a staff help me find a taxi. I like to have an elevator to bring my luggage up on and i like a pool. If you’re on a budget and don’t mind those things and want to be in a clean and accessible room this is the place for you. However i was very upset my travel agent chose this place for me.

    Overnight at Kyria Boutique hotel

    rating12 May 2025

We recently stayed at Kyria and will say it is a “vintage” boutique hotel. Our room shared a cute courtyard with another room. The location can’t be beat…right in the heart of Plaka. The view from the balcony is of the Acropolis! We had bfast on Mother’s Day on the rooftop taking in the Acropolis. Angela is so sweet and greeted us and held our bags and also served bfast the next day. We enjoyed ourselves here but do realize it is a vintage hotel and not completely modern.
