This modern luxury hotel has a wonderful location on Syntagma Square. All the important sightseeing attractions as well as the famous shopping and entertainment quarter, Plaka, are within walking distance of the hotel. Convenient public transport links may be found 10 m from the hotel.

The hotel has 177 rooms, including 25 suites, 30 single rooms and 101 double rooms, which are located on 9 storeys and are reachable by 2 lifts. The reception desk is open round the clock. Amenities available at the hotel include a baggage storage service, a safe and a cash machine. Wireless internet access in public areas allows guests to stay connected. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. A number of shops, including a supermarket, are great for shopping or just browsing.     Perfect location and luxurious accommodation

    We had a suite and it was very big and luxurious. The bathroom was larger than most bathrooms in Europe. The room had all the amenities you would need. The only caution I would give would be that the traffic noise can be heard throughout the night. The breakfast were excellent and had lots of choices I would highly recommend this hotel for location to all the sites in Athens.     Just back from a week in Athens, staying at the NJV Athens Plaza. This was our 5th visit to Athens & we stayed at the NJV the last 3 times. It's a lovely, modern hotel in an ideal location, central to all the sights. Staff are very friendly and helpful and a special thanks to Anna Barda who helped us with our booking, she was such a lovely person when we met her during our stay. Breakfast was good and varied and staff very attentive. Our room was was kept exceptionally clean and bar staff friendly and efficient. We would love to return to Athens one day and would definitely stay at the NJV.     Exceptional stay in the heart of Athens

    I stayed at NJV Athens Plaza from 16–20 April 2026, and again from 23–25 April 2026 after returning from an excursion to Meteora.I could not have been more pleased with my choice for my first visit to Athens. The location is exceptional—elegant, safe, and highly convenient. The hotel sits right by Syntagma Square, on the same block as the King George and the Hotel Grande Bretagne.The National Parliament is just steps away, and the hotel provides easy access to all the major attractions, including the Acropolis, Acropolis Museum, National Gardens, Hadrian’s Arch, the Temple of Olympian Zeus, the Benaki Museum, Ermou Street, Monastiraki, the Ancient and Roman Agoras, as well as Plaka and Anafiotika, and many others.Service was impeccable throughout. Shortly after confirming my booking, the Front Office Team reached out to me to assist with pre-arrival arrangements, including airport transfers. (The hotel also offers convenient online pre-arrival check-in and pre-departure check-out.)The Team were consistently warm, professional, and attentive—whether assisting with directions, facilities, or restaurant reservations. Special thanks to Maria, Nikos, and Naxos for their outstanding service.For my first stay, I had booked a room with an Acropolis view and was pleasantly surprised by a thoughtful upgrade on arrival, which I greatly appreciated. For my second stay, I had booked a suite.     Location can't be beat. Needs updating.

    Location, Location, Location! This hotel is right on Syntagma square within walking distance to everything we wanted to see in Athens. The staff are very friendly. The hotel itself is fairly dated and in need of a refresh. A small alley view room given to us, though we had been led to believe by Viking cruises that we were staying in a 5 star hotel. There was nowhere to sit in comfort in our small room nor in the lobby. The lobby features very low, wide cushioned couches that are more like a low daybed width. Once seated, you might need help getting up again if you are not a young athletic person. We are older so for us, it was impossible. Given the volume of cruise ship guests this hotel has, I found this furniture surprising. We ended up going to the cafe' or to the one restaurant/lounge and buying drinks to essentially 'rent' chairs for an hour or so. (7 euros for a ginger ale) For these reasons, I am rating the hotel at 3 stars. IMO, the location and staff are wonderful. Some updating would make this an outstanding choice.
