  Dirty, Smelly, and Unsafe

  As a young woman traveling alone, I felt extremely unsafe in this hotel and the surrounding areas. The smell of cigarettes is potent in the lobby and even worse in the rooms. When I asked to switch rooms because I had booked a non-smoking room, the receptionist assured me that the rooms were non-smoking, but the ashtrays in both of the rooms I tried suggested otherwise. I had a very unsettling encounter when I walked through the lobby to leave and was greeted by several men who stopped their conversation to stare at me as I left. I was also informed that guests have to leave their room key at the front desk every time they leave the hotel, which is extremely unusual and made me feel nervous about leaving anything in the room, let alone my laptop. I tried to stick it out as I was only supposed to stay two nights there, but the discomfort and lack of safety I felt both inside the hotel and walking around the neighborhood were overwhelming, and I quickly got to work finding myself new accommodations so that I wouldn't have to spend any more time there. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, especially women and families.

  It was my 4th time at this hotel, and most likely not the last. Very good price for a hotel like this! Decent, clean, elevator available, any kind of shop nearby, 5' walk to metro, also walking distance to the heart of Athens. I'm choosing this hotel for 3 years, usually before I take the ship from Piraeus which always departs in the afternoon and they oftelly let me stay till 1 or 1.30 if no guest comes the same day and I always appreciate it. This time the specific receptionist, the one with the tomcat, rushed me to leave when he saw the clock showing 12:15pm, telling me that maids finish their shift at 1pm! That sounded funny, maids finishing 1h after the check-out time, and probably begin work at 5am! I don't blame him, for the love of God, since it wasn't sth I entitled for, he's just doing his job typically! I just appreciate the previous ones who kindly made me a small favor! I love this hotel.

  Adequate Hotel in a Bad Neighbourhood

  Inside the hotel itself is adequate, the room was clean and featured all expected amenities including hot water. The area in which the hotel is situated, however, is far from salubrious and I was not expecting the amount of homelessness, litter and seediness which I experienced. This was particularly challenging to navigate a night. For a location which is 20-30 min walk from the centre, this meant that navigating through this area multiple times a day was unavoidable and had I known more about the area I was staying in then I would not have booked this hotel.

  It was my 2nd time in this hotel. The 1st time I gave an excellent rating coz my room was much better. This time (room 105) was also clean but generally just satisfying. The view from the small balcony (½ meter) wasn't good. The wc was also too small, cracked shower tray, and not a curtain at the shower unit, thus the whole place was getting soaked after a shower. Perfect wifi! When you get outta hotel you must deliver the key to the receptionist in a key ring which also holds the magnet that gives power at the room, hence there's no power in the room when you're away, but the fridge should be joined with a generator and work 24h like most hotels I've visited! The area is dirty, ONLY immigrants, people searching in the bins, homeless and some junkies, feeling you're in Bangladesh, but not really dangerous, I was feeling no fear even walking alone in the night. Full of mini markets and fast food stores, 5' walking to metro station, 15' to Syntagma – heart of Athens! Many parking lots by payment nearby, but you can maybe find a free space by searching nearby the hotel. In the evening it's much easier, even in front of the hotel! The staff, receptionists and maid kind and helpful. I arrived 2 hours before check-in time and they let me in at once without any extra charge, I appreciate it, thank you very much! I would pleasantly stay again!

  Awful. Do not book. Roaches. Unsafe.

  Awful, in every aspect. DO NOT BOOK HERE! COCKROACHES IN THE ROOM, not clean, RUDE staff, UNSAFE area with people doing drugs in alley ways. SMOKE SMELL everywhere in my non smoking room (an ashtray was in room as well…). Hard pillows, broken springs on “bed”. Also the room was quite small (shower in particular is very small). THIS PLACE SHOULD BE DE-LISTED! Can find a much better accommodation for similar price elsewhere. For the sake of fairness, there is a convenient nearby laundry and some cheap food. The rooftop view is also nice, but similar can be found elsewhere.
