Facility

    Not worth spending a lot of words on. Once it was luxury, however, horribly outdated now. Disappointing. Neighborhood is nice.

    Want to start by mentioning we have stayed many times at this hotel. Each year it gets worse and rapidly gone downhill. The customer service this year was shocking, with very rude staff at reception raising their voice when trying to dispute a duplicate charge, despite showing them receipts and proof of such. Cleanliness was a big issue - the bed sheets were only changed once in 8 days despite spotting a stain on the bedsheet which was never changed (disgusting). Rooms and lobby tired and outdates; bath/shower filling with water with horrendous drainage; breakfast staff had absolutely horrendous service and attitude with half of the breakfast and even hot water and juice missing daily. Food left outside neighbouring rooms not cleared away for 2 days at a time which was unhygienic. Main issue was the overcharge which they were exceptionally aggressive and rude about and still chasing the refund 2 months on.... will NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN. Avoid at all costs.

    We often frequent Kifisia to visit relatives, and frequent some of the stellar restaurants in the area. This is our third year at Theoxenia Palace in the same amount of time. My wife and I find it to be quite comfortable and pleasant. The staff, from the General Manager, to the ladies and gentlemen at the front desk, including the greeters and luggage assistants are all extremely helpful and accommodating our every request. Nothing is perfect of course, but there is no issue that cannot be remedied with a smile by the competent men and women working here. From our point of view, we will always come here when we visit. Though I do not like to single out people in general, Giannis, who can be seen at every facet of service, has been a personal delight for me.

    Lovely hotel in need of renovation

    We stay here for the location, the price and the pool when we visit family in Kifissia. This is a very beautiful hotel with great potential. It is within walking distance to shops, restaurants and public transportation and is about 45 min to 1 hour to downtown Athens by train/bus. The rooms are spacious but in need of renovation to meet a five star standard. We stayed in a standard room, which was clean and the bed this time was comfortable, but the door lock did not work (this was fixed) and the shower had no pressure. The buffet breakfast which is included was okay, the best part was the fresh squeezed orange juice and espresso/cappuccino. The staff were wonderful and accommodating, with a special thank you to Yiannis, Sofia and the cleaning staff.

    Mixed experience- Great location but disappointing pool policy

    We stayed at Theoxenia Hotel in Kifissia, Athens, and while the location is excellent—quiet yet close to shops, restaurants, and the lovely Kifissia centre—we had a mixed overall experience.The hotel itself has good potential. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, but it's evident that they are in need of refurbishment to meet the standards one would expect for the price. The swimming pool is a nice feature, but it gets very crowded quickly, especially during weekends, making it less relaxing than expected. The pool bar service was average at best—nothing particularly memorable.What really disappointed us, however, was the unexpected charge when we wanted to bring our children (we’re visiting from Wales, UK) for a swim. Despite a clearly displayed rate of €25 for external guests at reception, we were told we had to pay €50 per child because it was a Sunday. This was not made clear in advance, and considering that both my wife and I were paying hotel guests—and repeat customers—we expected more reasonable treatment or at least a discount.For the price we paid, which is comparable to other nearby hotels, we felt this policy was both inconsistent and unfriendly. Sadly, it left a sour taste during what could have been a more pleasant stay.
