A lovely hotel in the true Grand sense of the word - oozing charm and style in a great location. All the staff were very kind and most helpful - Andreas in the restaurant in particular. We will definitely stay here again.

Disappointing Experience at a Premium Price Point

The hotel exudes historic charm, with grand architecture and traditionally styled interiors that evoke a sense of old-world elegance. However, the property does show signs of age, and certain aspects would benefit from thoughtful refurbishment; particularly given the premium pricing.Service was a clear strength. From arrival to departure, the staff were consistently warm, professional, and accommodating and very clean. Breakfast was another highlight: an extensive selection, well-presented, and served by genuinely friendly team members who enhanced the experience.That said, several oversights detracted from the overall value. Most notably, the spa was closed, no reason given - until the end of October; something that was not disclosed at the time of booking, despite our reservation being made directly through the hotel. This lack of transparency was disappointing, especially as the spa was a key reason for choosing the property.Additionally, the guest room was uncomfortably warm. When we queried the air conditioning, we were told it had been deactivated;a surprising decision, with no satisfactory alternative offered, we slept with the windows open, not ideal. Also the corridors leading to rooms, were badly lit, so dark, I had to use the torch on my phone. Only one extra pillow and dressing gown provided. While the hotel has much to offer, particularly in terms of ambiance and service, the experience did not fully align with the expectations set by the rate. I would advise future guests to inquire proactively about key amenities, as important details may not be communicated unless specifically requested.

This is a monumental hotel with some issues to address! The corridors were basically unlit during our stay which caused an uncomfortable feeling. The room and the bathroom were tired. The beautiful wooden floor needed a new varnish urgently, the heavy drapery of the curtains and the chaise longe was so old that that a slight smell of cigarettes was still noticed, there were only two cushions on the enourmous bed. When showersing the water was noy properly drained and the kitting showed dangerous gaps. For breakfast there was no fresh fruit juice, only orange lemonade and the fruit section consisted of slices of melons and machine cut cubicles of apple. Coffee was the worst during our three week holiday in Greece. The swimming pool was only opened from 11 a.m until 7 p.m. There was loud music and advertisements by the local radio station and the sunbeds could need a proper cleaning. All in all, there is work to be done in what once was a beautilful hotel. An exception has to be made for the staff at the reception desk: they were very friendly, attentive and professional.

Great location! The hotel was amazing, spacious rooms, great breakfast, lovely and polite staff. The facilities were really impressive, loved the Spa area and swimming pool. Hopefully I will return soon.

Amazing staff, the hospitality was unbelievable, friendly and always ready to assist at their best! The hotel is their people! The room was perfect for 4 persons with 2 different bedrooms! Totally recommended and the Christmas vacation was unforgettable for our family! Special bravo to the pianist!! Will come back!!!
