Very well located in a beautiful area we’d never heard of.

Our planned trip to Tinos was cancelled due to high winds & ferry cancellations, so opted to spend 3 nights here. About a 75min comfortable train trip from Athens. Hotel is an easy 5 minute walk from Chalcis Station. We had a seafront room ( 413 ). Basic room, but spacious, clean, good air conditioning with a small balcony and beautiful views of the harbour. A very good buffet breakfast was included in our tariff. The hotel has a restaurant, however we opted to eat in one of the many dining options along the waterfront. Staff at this hotel spoke English and were very friendly & helpful. We had never heard of or considered going to Chalcis or the Evoia area of Greece. What a pleasant surprise and what a delightful area to visit & stay. Lots to see & do. The Lucy Hotel is a great base to explore from….great location just over the old draw bridge right on the waterfront.Seems like it’s also a very popular holiday spot for Greeks. Unlike the islands, lots of Greek families here.We will be back for sure, next time we visit Greece. a nice weekend

the view was amazing. service and hospitality was one of the best. Very clean hotel and the staff was smiling and very cooperative. breakfast was rich and fresh.I really recommend this hotel for summer vacations or a weekend during winter time. Chalkis is very close to Athens but feel to be far away.

    Not Good. Never Again!

    rating15 Mar 2023

The mattress was terrible: I could feel the metal springs digging into every part of my body. The sheets were like sandpaper. The toilet lid didn't fit properly and closed onto my back whenever I sat on the toilet--gross! The old 1980s heater unit didn't work, and there weren't even batteries in the remote control thermostat, so I was cold. Oddly enough, the heater unit made a really loud, annoying, humming noise. The mini-fridge rattled, so I unplugged it. My room was not like the renovated ones pictures online. I had an interior courtyard room, where they were doing loud construction all afternoon--I'd asked for a quiet room. All morning long from 0630 I heard opening/closing doors in my room and couldn't sleep. I could hear the people upstairs until late at night, too. This hotel looks like it would be nice and has a location, but it's just a polished turd. I definitely won't stay here again.

    Never again Lucy!

    rating05 Feb 2023

The Hotel Lucy was established with the stated aim of being the best hotel in the region but, unfortunately, the current owners no longer bother. They are very mean with the toilet paper, i.e. the paper paper dispensers are so tight you can't pull out the sheets (!) and, there is no alternative (i.e. No tissues); the hand basin has a sieve but no plug (presumably to stop you washing your 'smalls' at night); the disabled shower has a handrail in the wrong place; the quality of the liquid soap is poor and of course there's no shampoo, conditioner, or body lotion; AND, there's no safety lighting in the hall passages.
