  One of the worst hotel experiences we have ever had

  One of the worst hotel experiences we have ever had. The only good thing about Tosca Beach Hotel is the beach. Everything else was a major disappointment and, in our experience, nowhere near a four-star standard. The worst part was the treatment of guests, particularly by the Hotel Manager. I found his communication extremely unprofessional, rude, disrespectful and confrontational. After we raised our concerns in writing, instead of a courteous and professional response, his attitude made an already disappointing stay considerably worse. The all-inclusive concept is extremely disappointing. The food served at breakfast, lunch and dinner is of very poor quality, repetitive, and some of it looked as though it had been sitting out for a long time. The chicken was greyish in colour and so unpleasant in appearance and taste that we tried one bite and never ate it again. The juices taste artificial, more like syrup than juice. What is particularly frustrating is that the food you pay extra for at the beach bar is noticeably better than the food included in the all-inclusive package. You pay for all-inclusive, yet if you want noticeably better food, you effectively have to pay again. At dinner, staff would tell guests that the restaurant was closed while they were still sitting at their tables with food on their plates and eating, making us feel as though we were being pushed to leave. I have never experienced this in another hotel. Cleanliness and hygiene were also very disappointing. The rooms are dated, worn and badly in need of renovation, and we experienced an unpleasant sewage smell. Access was so inconvenient that, travelling with a small child, we actually drove between our room and the beach. The hotel also hosted weddings/private events during our stay, restricting guests' access to parts of the garden. In our experience, the accommodation, food, cleanliness, service and treatment of guests do not come close to a four-star standard. We would rate the actual experience as three stars at best, and in some respects closer to two. We will never return to this hotel and cannot recommend it, particularly to families with young children.

  Overall, we had a pleasant stay, but there are a few things worth mentioning. The hotel is not ideal for families with small children because there are many stairs throughout the complex, which can be difficult with strollers or toddlers.The beach is excellent, with crystal-clear and clean water. The restaurant and the food were outstanding, with a great variety and very good quality. The beach bar was also excellent, offering a wide selection of snacks and treats, including sweet and savory pastries, fresh fruit, cakes, ice cream, tortillas, pizza, popcorn, and more.The rooms are on the smaller side, and unfortunately, the cleanliness could be improved, as it was not up to the standard we expected.There is nothing of interest within walking distance outside the hotel, so if you want to visit Kavala, you will need a car. It is about 6–7 km away.Overall, the hotel is a good choice if you are looking for a relaxing beach vacation with excellent food, but it may not be the best option for families with young children.

  Terrible experience.I paid for a Double Premium Front Sea View room.What I actually got was a wall on the left, the back of another building in front of me, and a large tree blocking most of the sea view. You can barely see the sea through the branches. On top of that, there was also a view of garbage.As soon as I entered the room, there was an unbearable smell of sewage. The air conditioner only worked in Cool mode, not Auto. The manager insisted that Cool mode was the same as Auto, which is simply not true. The remote control clearly displayed F° instead of C°, and the air conditioner louvers were broken. Judging by how yellow and worn it looked, I seriously doubt the filter had been cleaned in a very long time.The bathroom door was made of glass, and one of the hinges was almost completely pulled out of the wall.As for dinner, if you like sugar in almost everything, you'll probably enjoy it.I'm attaching photos so you can see for yourselves. Unfortunately, I can't upload the smell. They even tried to tell me the odor was coming from the sea, even though there was no smell outside on the terrace. ????I do not recommend this hotel. Total disappointment, a complete rip-off, and a lot of unnecessary stress.

  "So many stars, so little professionalism."

  We stayed at Toscha Beach Hotel on July 6th, 2025, for a single night. Upon checking out, we accidentally left behind a shirt, a pair of shorts, and a belt (looped through the shorts) inside the room’s wardrobe. We checked out on time and spent the afternoon at the hotel’s beach.When we returned home, we realized our items were missing and tried to contact the hotel immediately. All their phone lines were either out of service or unanswered, including the mobile number listed on their website. We sent an email — no reply.The next day, we finally reached a receptionist who confirmed the items had been found but insisted we send either a relative or a courier from Kavala to collect them.We sent a courier the same day, but they refused to hand over anything, claiming “they hadn’t been informed.” The next day, after contacting the hotel again, the courier was refused once more, this time because “they weren’t at reception.” Only on the third day, after repeated complaints, were the items finally handed over.Except… not all the items were there. The shirt and the belt — which had been hanging together on the same hanger with the shorts — were missing.We contacted them again. This time, a less-than-polite receptionist called us to inform that those two items were “not found” and the only thing they could offer was compensation. When we asked who handed over the shorts, they said it was the housekeeper who cleaned the room. When we raised concerns about the safety of guests’ belongings and trustworthiness of their staff, the receptionist sarcastically replied: “You’re not saying that very nicely.”We sent them an invoice for €54.95. Then came the cherry on top: when we called to confirm they’d received it, their response was:“Yes, we got it. We’ll send you the money… once we collect it.”Really? Is this a hotel or a charity drive?To be clear: we are not upset about the lost items themselves. We don’t care about compensation. What enraged us was the systematic indifference, the lack of responsibility, and the rude treatment we received as paying customers simply trying to recover our belongings.We wouldn’t have written this review if they hadn’t pushed us to the limit with their behavior. Especially when simple questions were met with sarcasm and outright dismissal. None of this screams professionalism — or hospitality, for that matter.?? Advice to future guests: Check your room carefully before leaving. Never leave anything behind, even during your stay. Lower your expectations — way down.Thanks, but we won’t be back. Neither will anyone we know. And no, we don’t want the compensation. Keep it.
