  Is for me the 3th time i come here in few years last time i was here was in 2018 and i need to say stil is good people realy friendly rooms really clean and the food and coffee also is good so for me that have a 5star and next time i wil come here again My vacation is almost done i wish i can stay longer here

  What a lovely place to stay !

  Lovely place overlooking the Agios Gordios Beach. Great views, nice and clean rooms. They have a small swimming pool which is great for a quick refreshing dip coming back from the beach. Breakfast is super well served with great choice. It’s a family run place and you really feel looked after.Lia, who runs the place is such a lovely person that I felt really sad saying good bye.Great value for money but overall just a great place to stay !

  Not a great hotel

  The Alonakia hotel is located at the top of the hill at Agios Gordios. First of all, the communication was not great. Although the female hotel owner helped us decide what the best transport option was to travel from the hotel to Corfu Old Town, the rest of the communication was lacking. Our shower was not working properly, and we discussed this with the female hotel owner. The male hotel owner is responsible for the technical part of the hotel, so the male hotel owner looked at the shower. Because he does not speak proper English, he didn’t understand our problem and, therefore, didn’t take any action to fix the shower. Besides that, there was no proper communication about the opening hours of the swimming pool (there were no opening hours listed on the form we received with checking in, and there was no sign at the swimming pool itself). Assuming the swimming pool didn’t close, we decided to enter the swimming pool at 21:30. The female hotel owner ran up to the swimming pool to get us out; she shouted and was very rude. Her attitude was highly unprofessional and inappropriate because the balconies that other guests were sitting on had a view of the swimming pool. Secondly, the hotel room itself lacked some basic needs. For example, there was no water cooker available. Besides that, an additional fee was required for using the safe. Although the room was daily cleaned by a very kind lady (which was very nice due to the fact that used toilet paper must be discarded in a trashcan), when we came back from the beach, the door to the balcony stood open. All our personal belongings (passport, telephone, camera, money, etc.) were easily accessible because we stayed in a ground-floor hotel room, which is very unprofessional. The hotel room itself is really noisy. The restaurant, which is located at the end of the ground floor, was open until late. Therefore, we had some difficulties with the amount of noise that was coming from the restaurant at night. Finally, there was no smoke detector present in our hotel room. Thirdly, the water quality was really bad. Although it is safe to drink tap water in Greece, the Greeks use chlorine to clean the drinking water. The first few days, the tap water was great to drink. But after the fourth day, a strong chlorine odor appeared in the bathroom. We didn’t think much of it because we dried our swimming shorts in the bathroom. But when we filled plastic bottles with water, the water was white because of the amount of chlorine in the water. This level of chlorine was far above the safe concentration for drinking tap water. The biggest positive points of this hotel are the breakfast in the morning, the spacious balcony, and the amazing location of the hotel. In conclusion, because of the unprofessionality of the hotel owners and the lack of safety (for our health and our personal belongings), I highly recommend spending your holiday at another hotel.

  Such a lovely hotel, family run. Lia is the perfect host and looks after all your needs. Superb air conditioning in the rooms, which are exceptionally cleaned every day, and have very comfortable beds to get a good night sleep. Beautiful views over the bay and a very clean swimming pool. Highly recommended!

  Excellent service, excellent hosts, excellent food and breakfast, excellent views from the restaurant terrace, excellent views from the balcony of the spacious rooms. Quiet hotel in a wonderful setting. Rooms are very clean. Close distance to the beach. an absolute must!!
