Ignore snobby reviews, perfect couples retreat

We’ve just got back from a week here and we could not have asked for more. For such a fair price the rooms , service and atmosphere are brilliant . It isn’t luxury , the buffet is quite basic, but we had some great nights of entertainment, Brillaint room service and a nice breakfast whilst exploring the island

    Lovely small and friendly hotel

    rating05 Jun 2026

Our flight was delays so we didn’t get to the hotel until 1 in the morning. When we got there we were met by a friendly receptionist. They kept the bar open so we sat and had a well deserved drink, they also made us a delicious baguettes and we found fruit platter in the fridge in our room which we thought was a lovely welcome after a very long day of travelling. The room is small but clean and nicely furnished and we had a great view of the pool. The pillows and mattress are comfortable and the air-con was a life saver! The pool was a the perfect temperature and very clean, the put a robot cleaner in every evening. The breakfast choice could be improved with more fresh fruit but the lunch and evening choices were spot on and the bbq and moussaka were delicious. I was a little bit nervous before we arrived as the reviews were not great but I can honestly we enjoyed every minute.

Enjoyable stay at this modest family run hotel. If you are looking for a cheap holiday with a chilled atmosphere

    rating01 Jun 2026

Location is ok- 15 mins walk to the beach. On a regular bus route which has a stop just near the hotel. Couple of shops and restaurants nearby.Hotel: we stayed in the room on ground floor, facing the pool. Lovely room but could have done with more storage. For 2 us we only had a wardrobe to put everything in so I had to keep a lot of clothes in my packing cubes. Room was cleaned a couple of times and fresh towels put in. Bed was not changed during our 5-night stay. Beds were really comfortable and air con in the room worked well. Could do with net curtains for privacy. Loved that we had sunbeds and small table outside our room.Food: basic and often luke warm. I have a nut allergy and find nothing was labelled with allergens. Snack bar is great addition but could have offered a few more choices.Drinks: Soft drinks tasted awful- like syrup and were flat. Hotel need to invest in a better soft drinks range.Entertainment: Live bands were great but Greek night involved 2 woman showing different dances that were quite slow and boring. People left halfway through. We were expecting a lively Greek night with several dancers and a better livelier atmosphere.Bar area: lots of people smoking, no designated smoking areas so for nonsmokers this really isn't pleasant.Pool area: nice sunbeds and chilled atmosphere. Pool was clean and pleasant to swim in.Overall: The staff are lovely at this hotel and so helpful. Lady on reception area particularly great and would always help us when we needed advice. This is a basic hotel that suited us for a few days. We did get by on the food that was on offer and didn't go hungry but were happy to eat out one night for better choice food and hotter food. Cats are around a lot but really friendly and well cared for. They are clean and flea free. The hotel sells homemade moisturiser which funds treatments and care of the cats. We loved the cats and miss them lots! If you don't like cats you may struggle with this hotel. We found the atmosphere at night lacking and most people sat around playing cards. Could do with some more entertainment options. We enjoyed our stay and thanks to all the staff for their hard work and effort in making our holiday pleasant. Ignore the moaners who expect 5 star quality for 3 star prices

We are currently on our last day of a weeks holiday at this lovely small clean and friendly hotel. It is well located for beach and resort with beautifully tended gardens. Staff work really hard and cannot do enough for us. The food is delicious, fresh and varied and several branded drinks are included in all inclusive option which we have not always had elsewhere. We are regular cruisers and find it very frustrating when people complain about a small hotel such as this but are not prepared to pay the extra cost for their high expectations and complaints about the food which is Greek (surprisingly). If you want British food stay in England! Thank you for a lovely relaxing stay Argyrios Giotas, Ιδιοκτήτης at Amalia Hotel, responded to this review Dear Julie,Thank you very much for your wonderful review and for choosing to spend your holiday with us. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed our location, gardens, food, drinks, and, most importantly, the friendly service provided by our team. Your kind comments mean a great deal to us, as our staff work hard every day to ensure that all our guests have a relaxing and enjoyable stay. We are especially pleased that you appreciated our freshly prepared Greek cuisine and the all-inclusive offering. We believe that experiencing local flavours is an important part of any holiday, and we are glad that this enhanced your stay. Thank you for your understanding of what we aim to provide as a small, welcoming hotel. We strive to offer excellent value, comfortable accommodation, and genuine hospitality, and it is rewarding to know that these efforts were recognised. We truly appreciate your support and we would be delighted to welcome you back for another stay in the future.

Lovely family run hotel with a friendly atmosphere.

    rating31 May 2026

After reading some of the reviews, I was surprised at how lovely the hotel was. A lovely family run hotel with a friendly atmosphere. Personally, for it's rating and prices, I was very happy with the accommodation and the food choices available. The gardens around the hotel are beautiful and all the staff are friendly and helpful. My friend and I were celebrating our birthdays and one evening , we arrived in our room to find a complimentary bottle of wine and a beautiful platter of fresh fruit. We stayed for 10 days, during this time, our bedding was changed several times and towels replenished daily. I would happily return to this lovely place. My one complaint is that the beds were very hard. I would recommend the hotel invested in softer mattresses or mattress toppers. Argyrios Giotas, Ιδιοκτήτης at Amalia Hotel, responded to this review Thank you very much for taking the time to share your lovely review.
