Went with optimism, left with review reality and how poor a holiday hotel can be!

    rating06 Nov 2025

Go with caution, expect to take photos of the room and carry your travel company phone number to lodge complaints as they happen as the hotel staff will do nothing to help you.Location: Away from anywhere which may suit some but thsi was limiting as a family, the best part of the holiday/location is a local beach which has nothing to do with the hotel. Super friendly people at the people and local taverna. The small town is a short bus ride or taxi ride away and does give a welcome break form the hotel.Atmosphere; What atmosphere? Nothing to make it feel like a holiday in Cofu apart from the sun.Rooms: Terrible rooms, 2 star at the best and the so-called single bed is no more than an mdf single bed settee with a thin mattress on. My Grandadughter cut her foot on the single bed and the reception staff did nothing but say we had moved the cloth strap which connects the two together. They were not concerned that a 4 year old had injured herself in one of their rooms. The air conditioning unit in one room was loose on the wall and then leaked onto a wall light, when reported at 11 pm to the recetion staff they said nothing could be done until the morning and it had been looked at before so why is it not fixed? With water on teh floor and running down the wall, no option to move room but to wait until the morning. Oh, be aware that the air conditioning emties water into a bucket on the balcony which you, the guest, have to tip out when it is full. So be careful when walking past teh rooms as you might get water thrown over you!Value: if it was a one or two star hotel it would be what you expected. They are advertised as a 3 star hotel, very far from being a 3 star hotel. Clenliness: Rooms were clean, the site itself was not! We reported a broken glass on the path which was still there five days later, with children around. Often you would find plates, cups and glasses stacked on tables outside of the accomodation blocks (yes blocks). Noise Level: Generally quiet but we did have a group of school children in out block which kept most of us awake for three early mornings. Again reporting this did little. Cleaning staff gather in the entrance and talk very loudly in the morning which does echo in the corridors.Service: Restaurant staff work hard and are very busy, too busy to talk or answer any questions about the food. Bar staff were pleasant but did have time to talk when pouring your drink. Hotel reception staff were not very helpful.Hotel Shop: Oh if you do go, and seriously please think hard if you do and note my first paragraph. The woman in teh shop in the morning is rude, arrogant and does not like customers. You have to look with your eyes and moving anything off a shelf to look at is met with a 'please dont touch', even to children. Strangely the afternoon/evening staff are the complete opposite and are teh friendliest, most helpful people in the hotel.Food: Very poor, repetitive, limited choice. Yes it is all inclusive so you may not have a great choice but if you are happy with salad it will suit you. Alternatively expect lukewarm, bland tasting food. So, if you want an expensive 2 star hotel holiday, this is the place for you. But the hotel site states it is a 3 star establishment. The accomodation photos do not reflect reality, be warned.I would not reccomend this hotel to anyone I liked, if I wanted someone not to have a good holiday then 'yes, go there!'. Just dont expect me to apologise for the recomendation when you get back.

    Pleasantly surprised!

    rating20 Oct 2025

Stayed here the 1st week of October with my husband and our 17 year old daughter. On arrival we found our room had been upgraded to an apartment free of charge. Lovely young man showed us to the apartment and also wheeled our luggage there for us, he explaining the different areas of hotel to us along the way which was helpful. Apartment had a pool view with lots of bean bags around it and plenty of umbrellas. We had a nice size balcony with plastic table and chairs and 2 sunbeds.Apartment was very basic but clean and we had a small fridge where we could put our bottled water and milk. We did have a kettle and tea cups with a days worth of teabags, coffee sachets and sugar but once used it didn’t get replaced. It wasn’t an issue as I just took some from the bar. The beds were quite hard and only one pillow each, which were also quite hard and not very comfortable. There were ceiling fans and we also had air con if we needed it. The cleaners came in daily but we only noticed they made the beds, they didn’t take rubbish or clean the cups/glasses. We got clean towels left 3 times during our stay and the bed sheets changed twice (one of the times because I stripped the beds) The all inclusive food wasn’t anywhere near as bad as other reviews have stated (I’m a very fussy eater as is my daughter) Yes it’s quite repetitive and it dosnt cater for all but there is always soup, fresh salads, fresh bread, some meat or fish, chips and/or rice and vegetables at meal times. The snack bar serves gyros chips and pizza daily too. The alcoholic drinks are probably the worst I’ve had and are very weak but my husband said the beer was ok. The staff were mostly polite but the lady in the shop is quite abrupt and stands talking to her friends/colleagues while you’re stood at the till waiting to pay..quite rude really. Pool and bar areas all kept clean but the wasps were very annoying! Can’t have a drink or food anywhere outdoors without being accosted! We did enjoy our stay and we have said we would come back to Angela beach but probably just myself and husband next time. Not much around the hotel itself at all but reception staff were helpful and booked us taxis whenever we needed one.

    Great little get away

    rating01 Oct 2025

We weren’t expecting much from this hotel given the reviews but this is based on our experience as 3 middle aged women used to travelling .Pros…The hotel ..The hotel was bigger than expected we thought for the price it was going to be some little hotel,it was in fact quite large with several bars and pool areas. We saw 3 pools all very large and clean and 5 bars one being a rooftop bar which was very pretty.plus the hotel is right on the sea front with a private beach. There were also 2 hot tubs, daybeds with curtains , hammocks, sunbeds, beanbags and plenty of umbrellas, the hotel has a no reserving beds policy and this appeared to be being followed . There was a games area , basketball practice and table tennis , we did not see the park or pool slides so probably hadn’t seen the whole complex. We chose to use the beach and the bar man Mr Aris was always friendly, welcoming and helpful.Food and drink…The food was served in the bar areas or the restaurant so there was plenty of places to chose from, food was edible and although there wasn’t a massive choice there was always something different to eat which was always enjoyable, we had no complaints about anything we ate, The snack bars served pizza , Greek gyros and chips and were all very yummy.Drinks were served from 10-11 , soft drinks beer and wine from 10 and spirits after 1, again the drinks were ok and the measures were large. Cocktails could be purchased at around 6 euros each (cash only) and were very nice.Rooms….We had a family room which was acceptable, for the amount of time you spend in your room on holiday it had everything we needed. The room was cleaned 3 days out of 4 and the day it wasn’t cleaned the bins were emptied and towels changed. The beds were comfortable and clean. There was a kettle and small amount of tea making facilities but these could be replenished from the restaurant , body wash was supplied and there was a hairdryer small fridge and a safe in the room. The balcony was large enough for the 3 of us to sit on comfortably and there was an airer to dry your swimwear. The beach..The beach was lovely and the beach bar an added bonus, it meant no long walks back to the hotel bar for drinks. It was clean and sandy and the sea was perfect for young children as the water was shallow for quite a way, it was also clean and fish could be seen swimming (always a bonus)The staff..To be honest the few we came across worked hard and were pleasant enough, they just left us to it which was fine by us.The shuttle. The shuttle into Roda runs hourly and was an added bonus, last bus back was 23.05 and provided free.Cons….The hotel was predominantly German and although this isn’t a problem it made it hard to engage with other people. (Roda town was mostly English speaking )The hotel is literally the only thing in the area apart from a few shops and the 3 brothers fish restaurant, there’s a little walk down to the harbour but nothing much going on there. Thank goodness for the shuttle bus.The entertainment was minimal, some young Greek dancers which weren’t very entertaining (sorry) and a disco on Monday night , apparently there is entertainment in a Thursday to but we weren’t there for that. The woman in the shop was rude and unhelpful .Although you could assess water from a beer tap 24/7 it would have been an added touch if it was provided on arrival in the fridge along with something to eat when you don’t arrive until after midnight and can’t access anything to eat.All in all it was a lovely holiday and I would recommend it , just be mindful that this is not a 5* hotel but definitely a good 3* Greek hotel . Happy holidays xx

Nice hotel and pools not bad

    rating29 Sept 2025

Stayed as a couple for a week mid September Hotel nice and clean everywhere, swimming pools lovely and clean. All staff were friendly and approachable. We went all inclusive but we decided to eat out for breakfast and dinner we just had snacks ice cream and drinks on the all inclusive.I agree with the other reviews regarding food there was always something you could eat but I like a hot breakfast and found most of the food was cold by the time you worked your way through the crazy crowds of people to get to your table..this wasn't for us we have a higher standard.I think there could be a better set up regarding the food and some kind of organisation as its a mad dash and everyone going in every direction. We hired a car from the moment we arrived so this wasn't and issue as we like to eat in nice restaurants anyway. The beach was nice but a bit further down from the hotel away from the sun loungers as we noticed lots of fag ends in the sand around them. Not very nice but apart from that no issues with angela beach We had a Lovely new apartment overlooking the beach/sea.Would return another time but recommend self catering as food outside of the hotel was lovely.

Lots of reviews say about quality of food I feel they book a 3 star and expect 5 star service . The food was excellent varied snd something for everyone . Highly rate the holiday and cleanliness of the rooms . Can't fault the holiday if I had to it would be that one of the ladies serving in the shop needs to smile and be less rude
