  Fantastic find - great place to stay in Corfu

  I was apprehensive about our accommodation having booked our trip away under such short notice and for the price, however, was beyond pleased with our stay.The pool area is fantastic. On any given day that we were there, there was no more than 6 people at the pool. It was calm, quiet and away from the madness of Kavos. It was like a private pool to ourselves.The owner of the hotel and the staff were so kind and accommodating to us. Every day they were so welcoming, with welcome drinks, beautiful and affordable food at the location. Honestly, 5 stars alone just for the staff and atmosphere.The location of the hotel was about 10 minute walk from Kavos center, which we were pleased about. It means you are just outside of all the madness of Kavos, and there was no young rowdy people staying at our hotel. There is a shop two minutes away with everything you need, a boat hire and water sports company 10 minutes right of the location and the city 10 minutes left. There was go carting next door, and although previous reviews mentioned noise, it was no issue.If I am ever looking for a quick and quiet getaway to Greece, I would happily come back to Athina Apartments, without considering anywhere else in the area.The rooms have only air conditioning by fans on the ceiling however, so at times the rooms were a little warm at night, but this was the only thing about the rooms and our stay at Athina that I can truly fault.

  Everything was very satisfactory about the place. Pool and rea around was very cool. The owner panos is one of the nicest people you can meet and would help you anyway. Not in the middle of kavos so you can get away from all the madness whenever and only 10 minute walk max

  Long weekend, wouldn't stay again

  Stayed here for a long weekend end of august. Wouldn't stay again. Very noisey due to the go karting track and the main road. Rooms very basic. Not even a hair dryer, although the host was good and had one I could borrow every night from the kitchen (weird/effort!!) Host also greeted us and offered a drink on the house, nice of him. He was helpful when we asked to recommend a few places to eat, and to fix things in our room. Air conditioning was a fan on the ceiling!!!? Had no balcony, door straight out to public landing. Pool was okay, sun loungers was ok always one available as not very busy, personally I prefer a bit of life and chitchat around the pool. Safety boxes in the reception/kitchen area. Not even a TV, had to go into town to watch football. 15/20min walk into kavos town, very dark road but wasn't too bad. Kavos is definitely a stripe for young ones, only found a couple decent places along the old stripe (karaoke and shisha bar - 5*!!). Overal I would rate the accommodation 2/5.

  A small wonderful hotel just outside of Kavos so very quiet and soft.The food and drinks are great, but the reason we go back is the owner Panos, the greatest guy ever :DVery clean place, great poolarea with alot IF sunbeds...

  Just got back from a pleasant week away at Athina Appts. I went with my Mrs for a break, we knew about Kavos as we had been there 20 yrs ago! The appartments are basic but very clean. Ours had air conditioning which was fantastic. The pool area is under -used and is probably the best in the area. Nice and quiet with great massive bean bags in the shade to relax on. Wi-fi all over excellent 10/10Panos the host is a great guy and will do anything for his guests. The snacks and drinks at the pool bar are excellent and reasonably priced.There is a small go kart track next to Athina, but the noise is not bad at all only the same as the road it is on.It is about a 10 minute steady walk into Kavos and the main bars. We got a taxi back every night which was 6e and recommended as the road is badly lit and there are loads of scooters with poor lights!Kavos is good if you like mental, but also good if you want a good meal a nice glass of wine and a few drinks. Couldn't fault the food especially at Sizzlers which was 2 courses for 7e and really good food. Also Max's Diner was great for a full English breakfast! Would I go back to Athina? Yes definitely, excellent value, decent location away from the strip, great host and no groups of lads and lasses messing around all day/night. A great little place for a couple to stay..
