  Renovated, friendly staff, nice view, basic facilities

  Our room was recently renovated so everything was fresh and new. During our stay even some details were added to the room, like an extra chair. The hotel staff was very helpfull and friendly. On the first morning they knocked on our door to ask if they could help us with anything. The lady gave us a map and pointed out the nice places and beaches. We went everywhere, inckuding the restaurant she recommended and her tips were spot on.The hotel is about 1 km outside of Benitses. The walk to town is a bit unsafe for the first 200 meters. After that there is a sidewalk. Benitses is a very nice place with several restaurants. It is one of the smaller villages but plenty of choice to have breakfast.We rented a scooter for our whole stay and explored the entire island. We had a small scooter and could go everywhere. Some roads to the beaches are very steep but the scooter made it every time, albeit very slow with 2 people on it :-) From this hotel we would definitely recommend to rent a scooter or a car because it is outside town and there is not much to do at the hotel itself. You can also go the other way, to Corfu-town. There are some nive places with terraces at the seafront along the way. But these too are at least 1 a 2 km away.The bed was quite small: 140 cm. Which was fine for us, but good to know. The airco worked well. The view from the room over the sea was spectaculair. With the doors to the terrace closed, the room is quiet. The first night we tried to sleep with the doors open but were invaded by musquitos and party sounds from what sounded like the hotel next door. Bathroom was perfect. Good water pressure in the shower. Renovation was still ongoing during our stay but they kept the noise to a mimumum while there were guests there. We heard some drilling and knocking once or twice late in the morning and only very briefly.The new name of the hotel is Batelo by the way.

  Big double shared balcony. Apartament is small but you have everything what you need in there. Little kitchenette, little bathroom.Good localisation. You have only 4-5 minutes to Benitses.Host (Eleni) was really helpfull and nice.We couldn't stay longer in apartament due to virus, but they offered us to stay in pool place in other object.We had really nice stay.   we loved the views, the location between Kerkyra and Benitses, bus station by the house, full support from Eleni (management). A/C apartements with big terrace with sunbeds and umbrella! just small parking place, but you cen let the car on the street.the kitchen was adequately equipped...

  Fabulous apartment with amazing views

  Visited here for a week and stayed in the 2 bed penthouse apartment. Views were amazing ... well worth the steps (there’s a lot) up to the apartment. Sitting area and kitchen with every thing you need ... even mosquito plugs. The doors slide across on the balcony to open up the whole room. There is a main road in front of the apartments which is busy but didn’t bother us. Loved watching the sea even saw dolphins one morning. Lots of swimmers. There are some steps down to the sea but no beach and very rocky. Air con was good and a fan in the bedroom which leads out to another balcony with table and chairs. The second bedroom (bunk beds and a single) leads to this balcony too. Eleni was lovely... couldn’t do enough for us. We bumped into her while out at the beach and invited us to use the pool at the hotel where she worked which was lovely. Breakfast was great ... bread, milk, jam, butter, tea, coffee, yogurt, honey, orange juice, cakes and biscuits. We hired a car to explore which I would recommend (€100 for the week) parking on the toad outside the apartment always available. Benitses was about 5 mins away 15mins to the airport. Lovely relaxing week couldn’t fault it and would definitely return and recommend. Thank you for a fantastic week.   "If you believe the description and the reviews of others you will be conned like we were!! After going into the apartment, looking around, taking some photo's we picked up our cases and walked out, there was no way we were going to stay there. We contacted the owner and eventually after a lot of hassle, 5 weeks waiting and the intervention of Booking.com we got our money back." We had booked for a 2 night stay at the beginning of October 2019. On reading the description and seeing the pictures advertised - "Deluxe Sea View Apartment" it sounded very nice. As we approached the apartments by Taxi, the Taxi driver took a sharp intake of breath and told us that he had heard quite a few complaints about the apartments. It was quite a hike up to the apartment via steep steps, and as the cleaner was still there she gave us our key and then disappeared. Once inside the apartment, we were SHOCKED at what we saw, definately not Deluxe!! The room smelt mouldy, the spare pillow in the wardrobe was mouldy, the bedding smelt mouldy, the safe had no key, the "kitchen" was a joke, the fridge was held together with sticky plastic, you definately wouldn't want to use anything in there, the sink in the bathroom was stained a horrible brown, the door out onto the balcony wouldn't lock making the room insecure. It states that there is a beach across the road, but the beach is half a mile away and belongs to another hotel and it takes approx 25 mins to walk into the centre of Benitises which isn't a problem, but the road was quite dangerous in places. On reading this review, we are in no doubt that we shall be totally slated by the owners as they have done on numerous other bad reviews. Please don't waste your money on this place and let it ruin your holiday on this beautiful Island. We cannot imagine what kind of professional decides to make such comments for a property that he has never visited himself with the intent to harm a business therefore another professional who also works in tourism. This itself represents the quality of this person as well as his values plus minimized the strength and validity of your review. We hope that at least the driver was kind enough to wait for you and take you to another place to stay, closer to your preferences, or even better to one of his friend's place or even his place.
