  Lovely stay hotel just needs a few improvements

  I've just arrived back from this hotel and I was dreading it after reading the reviews but everyones opinions are different.I have stayed in a Mitsis hotel before and it was amazing.The good-the staff were really friendly and helpful nothing was too much of a problem.The room was very clean.The beach across the road was beautiful with clear water but beach shoes are a must as it's very rocky.It's a very relaxed hotel which is in a rural location you can't really walk anywhere as there are no paths and the main road can be busy so it's either a taxi or bus ride to go anywhere.The soft drinks were better than other hotels as there was more choice.There is a supermarket next door which is handy.The boat trip that goes from the beach was really good.The cakes were very tasty.The not so good-The food was very repetitive and not alot of choice and it was lukewarm but I've experienced this at other hotels so kind of expected it as it's a small hotel a few people were ill during our stay including one of us.The pool was very small for the size of the hotel and you had to get up early for a sunbed if you tried after 8am you had no chance of getting one.The shower in the room leaked which made the floor dangerous to walk on so put one of the big towels down.

  Wonderful staff, everyone was helpful and so friendly, nothing was too much trouble.We had an updated room compared to my daughter’s which was still ok whereas ours was ‘spot on’, beds are hard so if needed ask for a topper and extra pillows-delivered quickly.Rooms cleaned daily and fresh towels. Small balcony but ours had fab sea view.Food - usual AI fare gets a bit repetitive but on the whole decent choice, however it’s often on the cool side as no lids. As the holiday progressed food labels appeared which were welcomed as a few times unsure what was on offer!Always salads, pasta, meat, veg and fish. Obviously gorgeous yogurt and fruit plus a couple of cakes.Help yourself ice cream available all day.Drinks - hand made cocktails but limited choice, gorgeous ice-coffee especially when made by Elizabeth, all bar staff very welcoming but even in May queues grow.Pool not particularly big only one set of ladders, sun beds reserved early. But usually occupied throughout the day as there hotel is quite isolated. A few sun beds on pebble beach across the road, be careful on the crossing, vehicles do not stop. Ice cream and water available on the beach.Bus stop across from the hotel.Note - there are a lot of steps up to reception so you need to be strong to haul up suitcases, strollers etc.Evening entertainment was ok with various groups.I would say it’s a hotel better suited to adults, no children’s facilities.

  A relaxing holiday in the sunshine with a cocktail in hand!

  I don’t normally write reviews but after reading such conflicting ones about this hotel I wanted to do an honest and realistic review. I travelled with a friend and stayed in a standard twin room: clean, comfortable and maid service was immaculate everyday. A few little niggles eg only one chair on the balcony and the shower head holder had a mind of its own. But these issues were fixed by the time we even got back to the room once we reported them. The staff are nothing short of amazing! Every single one we encountered were friendly and helpful. The pool is small but more than enough for a dip to cool off or to swim a few length's. The kids had balls and floats etc in it and seemed to be having loads of fun. Plenty of sun loungers and we never had to wait for one. The pool closes at 6 so the staff have time to set up for the evening entertainment which is pool side. They had a different singer on each night and they were great. Kids disco each night but it wasn’t much to be honest. If you have kids that love to party this may not be the best place. We saw quite a few of the older kids enjoying the pool tables in the main lobby area. The beach is just over the road! It’s amazing! (Take water shoes to wear as it is pebbly) nice and calm. People had their inflatables down there with no issues. A lovely little jetty you can watch the mammoth amounts of fish from in the clear blue water. Again plenty of loungers and a little kiosk to get your all inclusive ice cream and water from. Bus stop a short walk up the road and then into Bentitis and Corfu old town. Food: delicious and fresh every single meal time. Breakfast great with wide range of the usual cooked breakfast options and cereals, fruits etc. Lunch and tea very similar offerings and only really changed one or two things each meal time so did become quite repetitive. But you need to like meditation food. If you don’t you will be hungry: my biggest concern would be if I had taken my kids. I wouldn’t say the food offering supported children’s tastes very well. (If your child will eat anything and everything they will be fine, we even saw a little boy tucking into a full fish with eyes and everything) Over all we had the best time and just what we needed to relax and recharge. Things to consider; the hotel is clean and comfortable, and if you have picky eaters for kids it’s a no go, not much on site for kids if they want to be busy and doing something all of the time. Use the public bus to explore the island and if this is something your not prepared to do be advised that apart from the beach, a supermarket and a little tavern there is nothing else around in walking distance. If your looking for a relaxing holiday in a beautiful location and your ideal is a slower pace with a few cocktails in hand this is the place. Again I just want to celebrate the staff who were just wonderful and made the holiday an amazing experience.   A Holiday Made Special by Exceptional People

  Having just returned from our stay at the Belvedere Hotel, I felt it was important to leave a review to recognise the people who made our holiday so memorable.The hotel enjoys breathtaking views across the Ionian Sea, a relaxed atmosphere and excellent value for money. However, what truly makes this hotel stand out is its staff. Every member of the team worked incredibly hard and always greeted guests with warmth, kindness and a smile.A very special thank you goes to the Assistant Front Office Manager. Unfortunately, I did not manage to get her name, but she was absolutely outstanding throughout our stay. She was always approachable, professional, helpful and genuinely cared about the guests. Her positive attitude and willingness to assist with anything we needed made a lasting impression on us.Another special thank you goes to Maria, who looks after the excursions. Maria was knowledgeable, honest and extremely helpful. She took the time to explain the different trips available and helped us choose excursions that turned out to be some of the highlights of our holiday. Her passion for Corfu and her excellent customer service were greatly appreciated.I would also like to give particular recognition to Caterina, who looked after our room. Every single day we returned to a room that was absolutely spotless. The room was cleaned to an exceptionally high standard, always fresh, tidy and beautifully presented. Her attention to detail was remarkable, and it was clear that she takes great pride in her work. Caterina's hard work played a huge part in making our stay comfortable and enjoyable.The bar team were fantastic throughout our holiday. George, Elizabeth, Abbey and Effy were always friendly, welcoming and hardworking. No matter how busy they were, they always found time for a smile and a friendly conversation. Their positive attitude created a wonderful atmosphere around the hotel and made spending time at the bar an enjoyable part of each day.A big thank you also to Chris on reception, who kindly helped us with our luggage when we were leaving the hotel. It was a small gesture, but one that was greatly appreciated after a wonderful stay.I would also like to acknowledge all the restaurant staff. Although I cannot remember everyone's names, every member of the team worked tirelessly from morning until evening. They were polite, attentive and always willing to help, ensuring guests were well looked after throughout every meal service.What impressed us most was that the friendliness shown by the staff never felt forced. Everyone seemed genuinely happy to help and took pride in ensuring guests had a great holiday. That level of hospitality is something very special and is becoming increasingly rare.To the Assistant Front Office Manager, Maria, Caterina, George, Elizabeth, Abbey, Effy, Chris, the restaurant team and everyone working behind the scenes, thank you for making our holiday so enjoyable and memorable.We arrived as guests but left with wonderful memories and a genuine appreciation for the people who work so hard at the Belvedere Hotel.
