    No fuss, basic, perfectly acceptable.

    rating23 Aug 2025

We arrived on 13th August, phoned Maria to advise we were ready to check in, she was there within five minutes. She was polite and helpful, giving a discount for a local steakhouse. She showed us to our room, explained that she was contactable on the number provided (written everywhere) and left us too it. Our room was basic but you get what you pay for, it was clean, functional, shower pressure was more than okay, air conditioning (you have to pay) was exactly what was needed, the kitchen area was again, basic but, it did what it needed to do. Sadly we didn’t have our own private balcony as expected but, did have an area to sit a little further down from our room which, was fine for us. The hotel does not have a pool but, there is one attached to the hotel literally a stones throw away which, we enjoyed each day, they ask you to buy a drink there which, was no problem. The neighbouring hotel does play music but as far as we could tell it didn’t go on too late so, wasn’t an issue. Lots of decent places to eat nearby (try Contessa, lovely) the beach is no more than a few mins walk away although, we chose not to visit there daily, the sunrise on the last morning was stunning, well worth getting up early for and we had the beach to ourselves. Look, this is a low star hotel, don’t book if you want 5* luxury because you will be disappointed. What it is, is a completely acceptable budget hotel, somewhere you can get your head down in a comfortable bed, shower and use as a decent base to explore Kavos however that might look for you! We were really concerned after seeing some of the more recent reviews (after booking) about what we would find here and we were really pleasantly surprised. Maria and her husband were perfectly lovely, polite, helpful and approachable. We had no problems at all, we were considerate of them, their staff and other guests as they were of us. I’d happily go back and stay here again.

    DO NOT GO HERE

    rating29 Jul 2025

    - Do not go here, the owners are rude and try to scam you. They kicked me and my two friends out on to the streets in the middle of our stay on her birthday. We were very scared being 3 young girls in a foreign country with no where to stay. - From the beginning there were multiple red flags. No one was at reception when we arrived and they just left a big sign with our names and room number and the door was just left open. Then the next day they wanted to charge us 10 euros when we got there and told us we had to pay for ac everyday even though none of this was advertised when booking- On our third day a women, which I believe to be named Maria Pandi, barged in in the morning when I was sleeping and started screaming in my face because I had taken the sheets off the bed to clean and hung them up (because they were dirty since we arrived). This was the first time I had seen this women aswell- Then she tried to blame me for a blood stain on the bottom of the mattress which was not mine and was there when we got there - She then demanded we pay €150 and give her our passports which we refused straight away. She then said we had to pay €60 for a mattress and sheets- A man then showed up who I think was her husband and after we refused to pay them and give our passports they told us to start packing and that we had to leave. We said no because we had paid to be there another 3 days and had no where else to go- Another man showed up and then said we had defecated and urinated in the beds. Which we obviously hadn’t and this was where things started to escalate with them lying and threatening us - The woman then told us she was going to call the police on us and when we asked why she said we had damaged the property. We told her we had videos of the room and evidence that we hadn’t damaged anything. She then told us she can tell the police anything and can pay the police to arrest us. She also said that her cousin was a policeman and he would come and arrest us- The man came up aswell and started shouting at us aswell and threatened to throw our stuff off the balcony. At this point we felt very uncomfortable being there and decided to pack up while they stood outside and kept banging on the door- Also we had an ant infestation when we arrived which the owners refused to deal with and tried to blame us and on the first day when I was not in the room she barged in unannounced and told my friends that we had stained one of the towels. This towel had not been touched since we arrived so the stain was already there. - Also the pools pictured in the advertisement when booking do not belong to the hotel and you are forced to buy a drink there if you want to use the pool or sunbathe there - The wifi advertised does not work and we ended up having to pay to use mobile data

    DON’T COME HERE!!!

    rating26 Jul 2025

Avoid This Hotel – Unsafe, Unprofessional, and Extremely Hostile ExperienceWe were a group of three young women, and from the moment we arrived, this hotel gave us all the wrong signs. We arrived late at night, and no one was at reception. Instead, we found a note taped to the front door with our full name and room number—left for literally anyone to see. The room door was also left unlocked, which raised immediate safety concerns. Anyone could have walked in.We were then surprised by an extra €3 daily charge for air conditioning. While the cost isn’t outrageous, this should’ve been stated clearly before booking. We noticed stains in different areas but decided not to make a fuss and tried to enjoy our holiday. On the first day, a woman came in to exchange towels and gave us one toilet paper roll. When we handed her the towels, she accused one of us of staining it with makeup, even though the towel in question had stains before we even used it — and, importantly, the friend who used that towel doesn’t even wear makeup.Things escalated further on the third day when my friend removed her already-stained bed sheet to wash it herself and hung it by the bathroom window. That’s when the woman barged in without knocking, yelling that we were disrespecting her property and claiming we made the room filthy (which wasn’t true — we kept it relatively tidy aside from a few personal items). She began accusing us of causing damage, referencing more stains that were clearly already there, and demanded €150 for damages — then shifted to €60, which we reluctantly offered just to de-escalate. But she refused. Then came the most disturbing part: she demanded our passports, which we rightly refused. She then threatened to call the police, and said she would tell them “anything” and even pay them to have us arrested. Completely unhinged behavior. She eventually returned with someone she claimed was a police officer, though he had no identification and looked like a regular guy. They gave us 10 minutes to pack our things, accused us of urinating and defecating in the bed (which never happened and was clearly meant to humiliate us), and said if we didn’t leave, they’d start throwing our belongings out. When we tried to reason with them and defend ourselves, they told us their actual reason for kicking us out was simply that they “didn’t like us.” Absolutely unbelievable. We’ve thankfully moved somewhere safer and more professional, but this experience was stressful, hostile, and downright terrifying. If you’re considering staying here or anywhere nearby, photograph everything upon arrival — especially existing damage or stains — because they will twist anything to blame and extort you.Do not stay here. Your safety and peace of mind are worth more than this.

You get what you pay for

    rating06 Sept 2024

Pros: good location, a short walk to the strip yet you are not kept up at night by the noise. Room has a nicely lit vanity table to get ready. Kitchen has everything you need. Air conditioning works efficiently. Cons:Reception building is separate from the hotel so you need to ring someone when you arrive. We came during the day so only waited 5 mins for someone to come check us in so it wasnt too inconvenient. Although he grumbled saying he had "just gotten home". Air con set us back €63 for the week. The poor shower pressure is not ideal but ive come across this before in greece. The smell coming from the bathroom drain is nauseating but the bathroom door has a tight seal when you keep it shut thankfully!During our stay I got some tan stains on the white bedsheets and was made to pay for them, despite staff not attempting to wash them first, they claimed they were "rubbish" and ruined. So, wanting to save the waste, we took the bedsheets home. I have washed them as normal (60 degree cycle for cotton, 1 laundry pod) and they have come up immaculate and clean, as I expected. (See pictures below) It is worrying if this hotel isnt washing sheets at the correct temperature or with proper laundry detergent.

Misleading images - no pool area

    rating06 Aug 2023

We were a group of 5 girls on a 4 night stay and got upgraded to an apartment so we could all be together which was nice. Hotel does have wifi but signal is patchy. Room was clean and tidy on arrival. Only issue with the room was the shower. Very small, dirty and awful water pressure meant it almost impossible for us to wash hair.Main complaint about the hotel was the lack of pool. Online when we booked it and when looking up reviews including on Trip Advisor, it clearly shows ‘Cavo D’Oro’ as the pool area with sun loungers and a bar. This is in fact a completely different hotel with a pool and bar, 5 mins down the road and we were unable to use any of the facilities unless we wanted to pay €10 per person, per day. Very misleading when booking the holiday as the main images show the pool area. Whereas Cavos Beach House Hotel does not have a pool.Another thing we found a little strange, was the of the hotel Maria (who was also the housekeeping) but would come into our room unannounced, at random times of day. This included 8pm when we were getting ready and 11am when we were sleeping.
