  Very good value holiday accommodation

  Just had a lovely week's holiday in Corfu, staying at Litharia Apartments. The apartments themselves are basic but everything else about the place is great - especially the staff, who couldn't be more helpful. They will help you out with any information, bookings etc and give great recommendations on the best places to visit.The views are fanastic from pretty much everywhere in the place. We had an amazing panorama from our balcony which took in the mountains of the Greek mainland, Albania and about 10 miles of Corfu's coastline.There's a lovely swimming pool (also with amazing views). The apartments are cleaned every day. My only criticism would be that the kitchens aren't very well equipped: we didn't have any sharp knives and only one pan, which made cooking a challenge.The location is good, walking distance from Benitses (though not in the middle of it all) and an easy bus ride from Corfu town.Overall it's a very good value place to stay, made excellent by the staff.

  Family run apartments,overlooking the vast sea. Well positioned close to airport & public transport at front. Average price, basic room always kept clean with fresh towels & linen daily. Always left to your own devices, but ever willing to help if needed.

  The sea was just across the road ,quiet place ,big rooms and balcony ! :) I was there with my family ,and it was perfect :). The Corfu town was just 15 min. drive away -and so was more or less everything .Water was on that side of the coast very warm (seems that on the other side of the island the water is very much colder :) ) staff was amazing also ! :)The nearest food store is 5 min drive away and the restaurants also :)Anyhow :) ,the location is very good from every side .The other small towns are all more or less 10-20 min driveing .The rooms as said were big and the sun is there from morning almoust until the very late :)Very recommend :) !

  Very genuine,attentive hosts. Great help in providing remedies/prevention for mosquito bites. Apartments all have fabulous views over Ionian Sea.Pool is at the top of the complex and is a fair old climb,but well worth the effort for the vista!Flats come with free air con,excellent maid service with daily linen/towel change. Breakfast great with choice of 2 cereals,orange juice,assorted coffees and teas,boiled eggs,Greek yogurts,cheese pies and various pastries,fresh rolls and breads,all included in price!There is access to a small stony beach immediately in front of the hotel.Both blue and green buses stop at the door and it is a short,pleasant 20 minute walk into Benitses. We will definitely be returning next year and have no hesitation in recommending the Litharia apartments.

  Disappointed - we expected more based on reviews

  +Pros:The large terrace with nice sea view;The stuff was friendly;Sheets and towels seemed to be clean;Value for money OK;-Cons:The hotel is rather old with recent re-novation attempts, due to which the large curtains of the large French windows were latex dyed; the bathroom is old, the drains sting, the "kitchen" has only a sink, fridge and two hotplates from mid-last century, no real knifes;Additionally, the air-conditioner is too weak for the large apartment and is really unusable (because of the drains smell), so we needed to keep the French window open day and night;There were many mosquitos in the room for two days until we asked for an anti-mosquito device (it could be there prior to asking); once a lizard sniffed in the room under the (closed and locked) entrance door;The breakfast is really minimal (croissants, milk and yoghurt) with no fresh food (fruits or vegetables);There is no real beach in whole Benitses or around - we travelled by car to the west side of the island where there are nice sandy beaches;There is no place to eat around the hotel in 1 km distance around - no restaurant or at least fast food or supermarket - everything is hardly accessible by foot, especially with kids, so we needed to use the car everywhere;The hotel is situated right on the main east road of the island which is really dangerous for kids (you need to cross the road in order to get to the sea);The WIFI was accessible from our room only the first day, then disappeared and never came back though we several times asked.
