    Great small peaceful hotel

    This is a great small hotel run by a friendly owner who has your best interest at heart. Any problems, he will fix straight away and with a smile. The hotel pool is just lovely, never busy and no loud music. The pool bar is well stocked and is run on an honesty basis, so if no one there, get your own drinks and write down what you have had. Have some cash handy to pay up at the end of your stay or on a daily basis. Buffet breakfast has something for everyone with differences each day. Two minute walk to the nearest tavernas and jetty, but worth the 10 min walk to the family taverna Boukaris Beach. Great stay, highly recommended.

    If you’re in to your seafood then this place is for you. All the staff and owner were very welcoming. The food was full of flavour and I honestly just beautiful, relaxing atmosphere and stunning scenery. Would 100% recommend!!

    This was my partner and mine second time at Penelope. It's in such a beautiful place and the hotel has a great pool and gorgeous views.A few tips.There is a pool bar where you write what you have had and pay Kostas (owner) at the end of the week. Take cash for this, the hotel has no card facilities. We didn't know and had to get cash from a machine which cost us money.There is a tax that has to be paid at the end of your stay. Again, have cash for this.The pool is great, but the mosquitos also think so. If you are sitting around it or on your balcony, expect bites!

    An excellent small family-run hotel

    I recently returned from a week’s holiday at the Penelope – not my first visit to this private family-run hotel, and it certainly won’t be my last./The hotel has twin/double rooms and a few studio apartments (if you prefer self-catering). Balconies have tables and chairs with pool or garden views. All rooms are very clean and comfortable, with air conditioning, and the good-sized bathrooms contain glass shower cubicles. There are fridges, coffee/tea making facilities and safes in every room. All rooms have satellite TV and wi-fi is available throughout the hotel.The hotel’s pool is not large, but a good enough size for swimming, and there are plenty of sun loungers and an honesty pool bar. A very short walk away you will find small coves for private bathing. Many of the tavernas dotted along the coast (and again within walking distance) offer sunbeds and parasols for use by customers.Breakfast is buffet-style, with a great choice of hot and cold food. Kostas (the owner) prides himself on customer service, and will do his very best to accommodate dietary requirements. The family also own a local taverna (Boukari Beach) which is within walking distance, although transport can be arranged (there and back) if you wish, and at no charge. The food at the restaurant is very good, with a selection of traditional Greek dishes alongside fresh fish plates (I particularly enjoyed the prawn ravioli this year).On the subject of Kostas, I have stayed at the hotel for over 20 years and watched it grow. Kostas has spent time visiting other hotels in Europe and has incorporated many amenities that he found during his fact-finding visits, with the result that this small family hotel has many features only seen in larger hotels.Thank you Kostas for making my stay an enjoyable one, and see you again next year, if not before!

    Excellent budget hotel.

    Extremely good budget hotel - friendly staff, great location, lovely pool, very clean. But the bathroom fittings are a little old and wonky so - for example - you have to hold the shower head in place, and it was obviously not something that could be fixed, it was just work out. Each room has its own hot water cylinder which you need to switch on but the heat and pressure are excellent. And you get sheets and blankets on the beds, no duvet. Air con is excellent though. So if you’re looking for an opulent room then pay more and get one. For a base for exploring this beautiful island you will not get better at this price.
