    Disappointing experience

Location is ok. Rooms are humid. Cleaning staff does a horrible job. They don’t change towels every day and don’t even pick up trash in the room. Sloppy staff at best. Food is decent. But if you stay for more than 2 days you will be staying in a dirty room without clean towels. Would Not recommend. Stay away.

Really Loved this Cute little Hotel. We might pop back in September!! Me and my mam stayed end of may. All inclusive. I wish they still did all inclusive because I absolutely loved the food, very authentic greek food lots of BBQ style meats and the salad was so fresh and delicious, honestly for the price we paid. I think £380 each was a bargain. Staff was soo Friendly, And lots of places to eat out down the picturuess streets, I didn't like the beach though because it was abit cobbly so I'd suggest the water shoes but we did get a buss to Corfu town and there was a little beach there witch was nice

    Not so great

    rating25 Oct 2025

Nice staff, hotel and food was not great. We arrived late to a room that smelt like sewage. The door wouldn’t shut at all and my partner couldn’t fit in the shower. We asked for a room with a bath and a door that would shut. Which they were very helpful but then we had no plug for the bath and the single beds were different levels. Not comfy: Food was not edible!! Hotel looks nicer in the photos the view from our room was an abandoned building that was sheltering stray cats

Me, my partner and friend went for a week away here, really friendly staff made us feel welcome the night we arrived it was really late and they provided us with a meal and cold drink, house keeping really good sweet little lady very polite and friendly only things I would probably suggest maybe change up the buffet stay lunch and dinner and some of the stuff was the same on the hot meal kind of stuff, also maybe upgrade coffee and tea machine so it fills the couple full as only does it half way. Maybe have a karaoke night for some entertainment as the entertainment was mainly music it maybe different due to going out of season not sure. Cute little lizard first one we saw all week and some cute little cats and dogs there too which made it feel more homely

Review of Popi Star Hotel, Gouvia, CorfuThe location of this hotel is one of its strongest points. It really gives you a feel for what Corfu is actually like, as the area isn’t overly polished or catered just for tourists. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, and it’s only a short walk to Gouvia Marina, which is a pretty spot. That said, if you’re looking for lots of activities within walking distance, this might not be the best choice — most things require a bus or taxi, and the costs add up. The hotel is on a main road, with that being said - there are a lot of noisy mopeds go flying past but don't create high amounts of noise to the point its uncomfortable/annoying. The rooms are basic but clean, with the bonus of air conditioning, which made the stay more comfortable. For what we paid for a week, though, I did feel it was a bit more expensive than expected for the standard of the hotel. The all-inclusive package is quite limited. Alcoholic drinks include cocktails with kumquat or ouzo, and a simple house beer. If you want branded drinks or spirits, you have to pay extra. The food can be hit or miss — if you’re a picky eater, you might find it challenging, although there are some plain staples like spaghetti, mince, and Napoli sauce. On the positive side, the hotel staff are friendly and the place is kept clean, which we appreciated. On the downside, the pool is extremely cold, and unfortunately there’s often an unpleasant smell around the hotel and pool area, which detracts from the experience.Overall, Popi Star is a decent, clean base if you want to experience a more local side of Corfu and don’t mind traveling a bit for activities. But between the limited all-inclusive, higher-than-expected price, and some comfort issues, I wouldn’t rush back.
