    Avoid if possible

    rating03 Nov 2025

Pros - very close to beach. Good outside area to sit. Close to centre of Benitses.Cons - rooms very dated. Bathroom layout difficult to use (toilet is next to sink, so difficult to sit down). Showers temperamental and hate the shower curtain. Food in the restaurant unimaginative, bland and little choice. Quite an expense to get from the airport in a taxi.

    Great holiday experience

    rating19 Oct 2025

My wife Vicki and I thoroughly enjoyed our week’s holiday in September of this year . We found the Hotel accommodation , facility , bars and restaurant plus friendly staff create a truly relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere for us . The area of Benitses , a short stroll from the hotel to have a terrific selection of shops , restaurants and friendly bars . We would recommend the Potamaki Beach Hotel and area as an excellent location to holiday .

    Disappointing first trip to Corfu

The reception area deserves three stars but bedroom and bathroom a one star. Bathroom was deplorable and flooded after every shower. Hadn’t been updated since hotel was built in the seventies! Breakfast was average.

Thankyou to all the lovely staff at The Potomaki

    rating07 Oct 2025

We had a lovely week at The Potomaki. Initially, we were a bit worried about some of the previous reviews but bearing in mind this is a budget hotel located in such a lovely seafront location, close to shops, bus stops and some wonderful Greek Tavernas, we thought it was great value for money. The building is older so, with this, comes ongoing maintenance but it was kept spotlessly clean by the hard working cleaning staff and rooms were cleaned daily. We thought the food was an excellent mix of things to choose from for breakfast (we loved the local olives) or dinner. We had some wonderful meals in the nearby tavernas but we also had 3 nights of lovely dinners at the hotel which was excellent value for €15 each and the lovely staff were continually clearing tables and refilling food trays. Our room was basic and, as to be expected in an older building, a little dated but offers good value for what we paid. We had issues with WiFi in our room but Spyros, on reception was very quick to reassure us it would be addressed and we were moved the next day to another room where he came and checked we were happy. We're thankful to him and to all of the lovely hardworking staff we met in the restaurant, reception and cleaning ladies for giving us such a lovely, relaxing weeks stay.

    Lovely receptionist, dodgy manager!

    rating06 Oct 2025

This is the largest hotel in Benitses, on the sea front across a busy road, on a bend, from the narrow shingle beach. Sunbeds are available at a cost. Rooms were clean, smelling of bleach, cleaned daily with new towels and bath mats.. Beds very firm. Asked for extra pillows. Blankets were kept in a cupboard - no idea if they are cleaned between occupants.Noisy with the door lock system making a noise every time some one entered their room and floors were stone so shoes were loud. There was aproivate event on until 2am every night.Breakfast was extensive, with a wide selection of hot and cold food (hot food was luke warm) Unfortunately the Greek yogurt was sour and got progressively worse. The queue for tea and coffee, fruit juice was often very long as there was only one server for all customers. You could not help yourself to drinks, other than water. Taking food away was forbidden! When we arrived we found there was a private event happening that meant our use of the hotel bars was restricted, despite us being hotel residents. The manager stated that the event had been advertised on the hotel website, however, the advert was for 2024, and still is! The lovely lady on reception negotiated free sunbeds for us, though they forgot to tell the sunbed man, who didn't believe us, and was very rude! The host of the event also managed to get the hotel to pay for us to attend the event (£35 each) so that we could use the bars.A friend left her room key card in a bar one evening. The barman returned it to the hotel that evening, but no one made any attempt to let us know they had the card, presumably so they could charge us 15 euros for a lost card. Even when I asked for it, having spoken to the bar, the night reception man was rude and reluctant to return it. to me. The lady on reception was fantastic, helpful and did her very best to sort any issues. The manager and night reception man need to learn customer service.Overall, not an hotel that I would return to.
