    Excellent and more.

Always admired these suites when holidaying in the village, took the plunge last week, and stayed for 7 days. They are beautifully kept by owner Pepi, who met us on arrival to show us around, and hand over our keys. Four suites in total, with very spacious lounge/diner, two bedrooms, two loos, wet room, and shower over bath. Each room has access to balconies, with amazing views over the village and beach, and the location so peaceful, everything is on hand for self catering, there is also a smart tv mounted in the lounge, would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a little bit of luxury in a stunning setting.

Favourite place on the planet :)

Best place in the world to stay in. Looked after with so much love, best quality on the island almost, breathtaking views on the sea, less than 5 minutes to the beach, we’ve been back for more than 10 years and hopefully will return again. Still feels new and amazing every time.

One of most special spots on the planet!

    rating21 Jul 2021

We have been back about 7 or 8 times, top summer destination, this is one of the most amazing stays for a holiday you can get. Very beautiful apartment, amazingly taken care of building, stunning views and huge windows over the sea, aircon, huge kitchen and owners that take care of every detail and request, like placing a blender and welcoming you with a bottle of wine! We have seem many spots on the island, and don't think there is anything like it. Top quality everything. Even the internet is great now - so also good for remote working and longer term stays. There is a washing machine available, two showers in each apartment and a bath, bedrooms are great and nothing beats the terraces and balconies facing the sunset (and facing away from the sea for some peace and quiet). Book early in the year to avoid disappointment!

    Wonderful holiday apartment!

Sugar and Almond is indeed luxury. Pepi, the owner, makes it her mission to make sure that you have a good holiday. Prior contact with Pepi insured that we had a transfer from Corfu airport to the apartment which took about 45 mins. If you take the coach it could take up to 2 or more hours. First impressions of the apartment was stunning. Clean, light, spacious and the view from the balcony is outstanding. You look over the beach and sea. There are 4 apartments, we stayed in a top floor one which gives a better view. There are 2 bedrooms, 1 spacious bathroom with bath and shower and a smaller wet room. The living area is spacious and incorporates the kitchen area which is well set out with breakfast bar and units. There is a back balcony off the kitchen which is ideal for drying towels etc on an airer which is supplied. The apartments have their own very secure doors and a further lockable door tothe front. There is a basement with washing machines. We stayed for 2 weeks so this was very useful. Pepi is often on hand to make sure that everything is running smoothly. The apartment was cleaned everyday except sunday and even then, we were still given fresh towels. The cleaner was very pleasant and would adapt timing if needed. We were given beach towels which really helped. Our holiday was early May which is the beginning of the season for San Stefanos. We enjoyed it because we got to watch it come to life. More and more opened and restaurants got busier. The restaurant owners are all so pleased to see you and after only a day or two we felt at home and were talkingto lots of locals. At the bottom of the hill there is a trip arranger where we hired a car for a day for €30. We visited Sedari and Kassiopi, well worth a visit as Albania is so close and makes for a great view. The girls at the hire place were very helpful, spoke brilliant english and really knew their local knowledge. There are lots of local supermarkets which are very well stocked with food, drink and toiletries. We fell in love with this place and would definitely recommend it and return to enjoy it again. I do feel however that there are some things worth mentioning. The roads are very poor, we would not recommend hiring a car. Lots of people hired scooters or quad bikes. The beach has quite a lot of seaweed and plastic washed up on it. The water is very clean, clear and shallow. Great for nervous swimmers. There are plenty of sun loungers but choose wisely. Most are attached to taverners and are free if you purchase food/drink. Some charge on top of that. We bought beach mats and we were able to put them in the same are every day. Some of the places we visited said they accepted cards but then the machine would not work. Our advise would be to go expecting to pay cash for everything. There are lots of cash points. The food is very reasonable and you often get free refills on wine jugs and fruit. We would recommend 2 Star for an authentic evening out and Teresas on the hill is great for a sunset view and on a Wednesday night a barbecue and greek dancing.San Stefanos is quite hilly and can be a challenge with gradient and heat but if you like walking as we do you will always be rewarded with spectacular views in all directions. This was a very special holiday made even more so by the wonderful location of Sugar and Almond. Thanks Pepi, we hope to see you again soon!
