Good hotel, beautiful sea with fish, and friendly staff

    rating21 Sept 2025

We spent a wonderful week at this hotel. Although it’s not new, it is well-maintained and comfortable. The rooms are spacious and equipped with everything needed for a relaxing stay. The food was varied, with plenty of fresh vegetables, along with fish and meat dishes. Since the hotel is located on a hill, access to the sea is via stairs or an elevator, which could occasionally be out of service, making it less convenient for guests with limited mobility or strollers. The beach is pebbly, so swimming shoes are recommended. The staff were very welcoming and polite. Overall, we truly enjoyed our stay.

A rocky start but a memorable stay!

    rating18 Sept 2025

Our vacation excitement quickly turned into frustration the moment we arrived. After a long journey, the last thing we wanted was to be stranded at the airport. We were waiting for a transfer that seemed to exist only on paper. Despite waiting for over two hours, we received no instructions or updates. We had to repeatedly contact the person in charge (TLT Transfer), and I even called their main office, only to find they had no idea what was happening. Watching other hotel transfers come and go made us feel forgotten. The lack of organization was astonishing and ruined what should have been a pleasant start to our trip. By the time our ride finally arrived, we had lost valuable time and were too exhausted to enjoy our first night. The service with TLT was a complete disappointment, and we strongly recommend avoiding it if you want to steer clear of unnecessary stress.Once we reached the hotel, check-in was straightforward, but the drop-off area posed a significant challenge—especially for those with mobility issues. The drop-off point is located at the top of a steep hill, while the front desk sits far below. Navigating this slope with luggage was difficult and would be extremely problematic for anyone with a physical disability. The hotel should address this issue to ensure a smoother arrival experience for all guests and it seems to be a general complaint when talking to other guest during our staying. The building and facilities are in need of renovation. A major concern was the frequent malfunctioning of the lifts. They were often out of service, making it time-consuming to move around. Having to constantly use the stairs just to access food and drinks was a significant inconvenience. Although the room itself was pleasant with stunning views. The main restaurant offers a buffet with a wide variety of food options. There was a good selection of salads, appetizers, main courses, and desserts. However, guests with special dietary requirements, such as vegetarians, vegans, or those with food allergies, may find the buffet challenging. For those with serious allergies, the risk of cross-contamination is higher due to the nature of buffet service. Although the staff were friendly and eager to assist, the buffet setup makes it difficult to guarantee allergen-free meals. Overall, the restaurant is well-suited for guests without dietary restrictions, but those with specific needs should contact the hotel or restaurant in advance to discuss available accommodations. The poolside snack bar was extremely disappointing. The most concerning issue was the large number of flies landing directly on the food, with very little monitoring. Despite the setbacks, it was still a great holiday overall. The staff were consistently friendly and welcoming, doing their best to assist whenever possible. What truly lifted the mood was the fantastic group of entertainers who brought energy and joy every day. Thanks to the staff, we were able to enjoy ourselves and make the most of our time there.

    PASSPORTS STOLEN

    rating08 Sept 2025

*STOLE OUR PASSPORTS*Food was good for few days after that it was repetitive and had no good choices Very outdated , loads of steps , coffee was bad. We have had our passports stolen from our bedroom and only realised it when we were packing for airport. The staff wasnt very helpful with this and didnt offer any help at all. When asked for CCTV footage from reception they said there are no cameras in the entire hotel. If you go to the bungalows, there are unfinished with holes in the electrical sockets and other parts of the bedroom

    Great holiday resort

    rating04 Sept 2025

Our vacation at this hotel was wonderful. I read all the reviews beforehand and was pleasantly surprised. The hotel is pleasant in almost every way. The staff was incredibly friendly and very accommodating to children. Comfortable mattresses, spacious rooms, and a crib ready upon arrival. Everything in the room worked perfectly. There was plenty of food, which was continuously replenished and tasty, as were the drinks. The pools were the perfect temperature and, thanks to their size, they were half empty. The morning entertainment program was also great. Beautiful sea. The hotel is older, so everyone has to consider what is important to them on vacation. For us, it wasn't a problem. It was a bit annoying that the elevators couldn't keep up with the number of people at mealtimes. As stated on the travel agency's website, the hotel is not suitable for people with health limitations. Even so, there were plenty of such people there and they complained. Next time, they should probably study more carefully who the hotel is suitable for. High chairs were available in the dining room, which the staff always cleaned after each child. The waiters quickly cleared away dirty dishes. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages were available unlimited throughout the day. Outside the bars, cups are used because of the risk of broken glass. There are plenty of free sun loungers on the beach and by the pool. The hotel is quiet in the evening, and the entertainment program is designed so as not to disturb guests. Beach towels can be rented for a refundable fee. You can order a lunch package for trips. You can park your car anywhere near the hotel. I really have nothing to complain about.

    WORST HOTEL - TOTAL SCAM

    rating02 Sept 2025

Worst Hotel I have been to. Sunshine Hotel & Sp" that was listed as a 4 star hotel should only be 1 star at best. When we first arrived, we arrived earlier than the check in time of 3pm so they did kindly look after our luggage until 3pm. After we checked in, we went to use the lift but it was so small we could only fit myself, a pram and one suitcase (even this was a tight squeeze). Not sure how this can be a family friendly hotel? It took us about 4 turns to get our family of 5 up the lift with all our luggage. When we finally arrived at our room, I was disappointed to see they gave us a twin bed, with two other single beds with no cot provided, even though we had stated we have a baby under 1 years old. The bathroom didn't look like anyone has actually scrubbed it in a while and again was disappointed that for a family of five, we were given 2 bath towels and 2 hand towels. When asked about getting extra bath towels, they wanted to charge us 10 euros for each one. When housekeeping came one morning, they actually took away one of our bath towels and one hand towel, which we reported but they still refused to give us anymore unless we paid money. What a scam. On our first night, we did eat at the buffet restaurant of which further disappointment. They only have two high chairs for the whole hotel which meant we had to wait until someone was finished before we could eat. There was very little choice of food here so if you don't like the four dishes that were offered, you are going hungry. The rice was still hard, not fully cooked, same when they served potatoes, they were still hard in the middle. When it came to looking for dessert, they normally have two options for dessert which were also gone by the time I went up as I think everyone was hungry from not liking their dinner. I did try to get an apple or orange from the dessert section but they all had black rotten spots on them so I wasn't gonna feed those to my children. Then we went to check out the night entertainment. One night was Bingo but they want to charge you 10 Euros to take part. The other night was adult karaoke and that was it for our week at this hotel. Again, it said online that there would be child entertainment. They do have two outdoor pools and they do have a private beach section but you have to be prepared to walk very steep hills to get down their as the lift was always broken. When you get to the beach, it's the most stoney beach I have ever seen. One of the outdoor pools was clean as you always felt some sort of rubbish, debris on the floor of the pool. They have signs around the pools to let you know there will be NO life guards on duty which is unacceptable for a family hotel to do. Be careful of the one outside lift that brings you from the hotel floor to the outside restaurant (Poolside food & Bar) as it give three seconds for people to get out of the lift and then others to get in as it slammed shut on me as I was entering the lift with a pram and it squeezed me between the doors for a good 5 seconds before it released. I got bruises on both arms on the first day from this. Likely it was me and not one of my kids. The Poolside food restaurant is a joke, they all leave the lids of the food open which then has the wasps sitting on the food the whole time. No one from the hotel staff keep an eye or monitor the food area. Again very little choice but was finally happy to find some ice cream for the kids but when I finally got through the whole line, there was no ice cream left. When I asked the hotel staff when they were going to replace, she rudely said they wasn't at it was 30 minutes until closing time, in front of my kids so you know how that turned out. After our first night, we woke to find Ants around the room, on the bed that the kids were sleeping in and on the drawers in the room. The kids woke up with little bites on their face and arms. When we got back home, we saw the GP and he said they had ant bites on their face & arms but likely shouldn't make them unwell. The mattress on the beds in our room were a joke as they couldn't have been any thicker than 5 cm which toddler mattress are sold bigger than this. Most uncomfortable bed to sleep in, worse than sleeping in a hospital bed. We wanted to take a trip the water park about 40 minutes away from this hotel and we had asked Olympus (located in the hotel) to book us a taxi. We approached him the night before and said he thinks everyone is busy the next day. He phoned around and said everyone is busy but he could have someone available for 130 Euros and then wanted to charge us 10 euros each for two car seats that we would need for our baby and 5 year old. Bare in mind that we just paid 60 Euros from airport to hotel (40 minutes drive) on our first day. When I got home, my baby had a rash on her arms & feet of which the GP confirmed that she had got hand, foot & mouth disease from this hotel. That just show you how unclean it was.
