  Basic accommodation which scores highly on all the essentials a tourist might need

  Somebody booked me a short stay at Vila Rosa, during a film shoot. I didn't want anything fancy as I was out all day, but needed comfortable and secure, and centrally located. Villa Rosa scores well on all counts.I stayed in a basic 2-bed room, with some basic kitchen facilities. It had a modern, well equipped bathroom and a beautiful terrace, which was a nice start to each day. The room has air conditioning which does take time to start to cool, but does its job.Check-in is about as informal as I've seen. I was expecting a key-safe and to be sent a code for it. Instead, on arrival, the room is open with the key inside, even though instructions said it would be 'above the door'. But no problems here.Basic linen is supplied, as is some cutlery and kitchen tools. Honestly, this is a holidaymaker's kitchen. You're not going to have Gran and the kids over for Sunday lunch are you. So although I felt the kitchen offering let the room down a little (a basic 2-ring hob sitting on the fridge), it's more than adequate for what it is. Most will store their wine, milk and beer in the fridge and maybe remnants of last night's leftover pizza.This place was fairly priced, is well located 5 minutes from Gouvia centre, easy to locate with plenty of parking. There's even a Dellas supermarket next door which has everything.I would stay here again and will heartily recommend it.

  First thing i wanna say, we loved our stay in Villa Rosa. Me and my boyfriend, stayed here, back in 2015, for 1 week, which became 3 weeks, if i remember correct. As the rooms were booked, we had to move around and stayed in few studios, which was not a problem for us, cause we wanted to stay, but more importantly Spiros and Vassilis tried hard to find the way, whatsoever. After 3 weeks we went to fetch our car on the mainland and they let us leave our big luggage's in their house for few days. We really appreciate all the help and understanding from their side. This is what is Corfu about, beautiful island with beautiful people. Other then that Villa Rosa has fantastic location, and is kept super clean, girls are working very hard, and the whole team DO care about the visitors. Thank you once again!!! and we will see you soon, as we live in Sidari now. Dobi (BG)& Tatiana (SK)

  We visited Corfu last august, One word could be said about Rosa, perfect...location, accomoditation, staff, owners...Very clean place, excellent location, market 50 meters from villa, friendly hosts, every part of Corfu Island is at same distance from Gouvia, if we ever come back to Corfu, Villa Rosa will be our first pick!!!Regards, Grujovic familly from Serbia!!!

  Spiros and Vassilis are great hosts. The place is worthy for the money. It has been cleaned every day or every second day, depending on the weekdays and weekends. Studios don't have tv. The door from the bathroom is on slide, which makes people a little uncomfortable. There is AC in every studio and apartment, which is very convenient. The wifi network is available.

  I visited the beautiful island of Corfu a few years ago and as I had wonderful memories from my past holidays I decided to spend my holiday break there again. It's been only a week since I returned to London and I wish I had stayed a few more days. The weather was wonderful and although it was somewhat hot for me I shouldn't complaint as I came back to England with a nice golden brown colour.I stayed in Gouvia - the same village I had previously stayed - in a lovely apartment which was surprisingly affordable, Villa Rosa. Its location is perfect for a visit to Corfu Town which is only 30 minutes away on a bus (Bus stop just 5 min walk) or a 15 min drive. I rent a scooter because I wanted to explore the area and some close by (or not so close by) beaches i.e. Kontokali Bay, Gouvia beach, Dassia, Daphnila, Paleokastritsa, Glyfada, Kontogialos etc. Scooter rentals are just across the main road of the apartments in the centre of Gouvia village (plenty of bars, restaurants etc.). There is a Super Market literally in front of the building, a few metres before its main entrance, which couldn't be in a more convenient location. The supermarket is called Diellas or 'the Italian' as the local people call it. Villa Rosa - You pass the Italian supermarket and it's on your right hand side. An open, green and very well maintained garden will welcome you with a big parking space. The building is consisted of three floors, the ground floor, the first and the second. I stayed in the top floor because of its far sea-view and the morning breeze. My apartment was very clean and self-contained with a small kitchenette, cutlery, fridge, and a toilet / shower room. It's a family owned building and the ladies who clean the rooms every other day are very helpful and always smiley. Do not hesitate to ask anything or to have a morning chit chat with a few broken Greek before you leave your room. They will very much appreciate a warm 'good morning' with a nice smile on your face. Facilities: air con, Wi-Fi (which can be problematic at times), parking The rooms contain the basic holiday rental furniture and if you expect something fancy, luxurious and expensive then find another accommodation. However, if you are looking for a clean room within budget then I would strongly recommend this place. I don't know about you but when I go away even on a mini break, I don't really spend much time in the hotel/apartment/room except for rest and night sleep.
