Location

The hotel is situated on the endless sandy beach of Stalis, just 30 km east of Heraklion.

Facility

The resort has a lift and features 85 rooms. The friendly staff at the reception desk in the lobby are happy to answer any questions. Amenities include a baggage storage service and a safe. Wireless internet access (no extra charge) allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. A garden provides extra space for rest and relaxation in the open air. Additional amenities include a TV room, a playroom and a library. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the car park for no extra charge. Further services and facilities include a 24-hour security service, a babysitting service, a childcare service, a car hire service, medical assistance, room service, a laundry service, a coin-operated laundry and a hotel doctor. Active guests can make use of the bicycle hire service to explore the surrounding area. A fax machine is available for guests' business needs.

Rooms

Air conditioning, central heating and a fan ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. Guests can enjoy the sea view from a balcony or terrace. Rooms have a double bed or a king-size bed. Separate bedrooms are available. Children's beds can be requested for younger guests. There is also a safe and a desk or, for an additional fee, a minibar. Additional features include a refrigerator, a mini fridge and a tea/coffee station. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels and WiFi (no extra charge) provide all the essentials for a comfortable holiday. Slippers are included. Sport

There are indoor and outdoor pools and a children's swimming area. A terrace with sun loungers and parasols is available. Refreshing drinks are served at the poolside snack bar. With canoeing, snorkelling and diving available, fans of water sports will have plenty to choose from. Water skiing and paddle boating are organised by third-party operators. Guests can enjoy a wide range of indoor sports, including a gym, table tennis, billiards, darts and yoga. A wellness area with massage treatments is available at the resort. Activity coordinators organise an entertainment programme for adults and children.

Meals

Dining facilities include a restaurant, a café and a bar. Half board can be booked. A delicious breakfast gives guests plenty of energy for the day. At lunch and dinner, guests serve themselves at the generous buffet. Diet meals, gluten-free meals, vegetarian dishes and children's meals can be prepared on request. The complex also offers special catering options.

    Beautiful hotel and right on the beach.

    Just back from an 11 night stay at Alai Crete and we had a fantastic time. We got a free upgrade to sea view, which was really lovely. The hotel had just been refurbished and it is beautiful. It was very quiet during our stay in Crete so the hotel wasn't busy at all therefore it was easy to always get a sunlounger by the pool or beach. The staff were very friendly and always ready to help. Breakfast was good, decent choice and lots of coffee and juice options available.The only negatives we had was that the sink was in our room and not the bathroom which was strange. The walk in shower also overflowed a couple of times. The poolside bar/restaurant was also quite expensive and therefore empty during the day and evening. I think if they did a 'happy hour' it would definitely get more guests to purchase a drink, especially since the bars and restaurants in Stalis are a lot cheaper.Overall, we had an amazing holiday at Alai Crete and would recommend it.

    Stayed May 2025, Excellent service the whole week we were there. When we arrived we were made to feel welcome, offered a water or juice, bags taken to our room and was upgraded to a superior room with an in-land view, the room was very modern and clean with the best shower I have ever had in a hotel! Unfortunately the view wasn’t the greatest, we overlooked the strip and staff block. I will stay again but will make sure I book a sea view room. The balcony’s were also very small compared to other rooms. All in all this did not spoil our holiday and I cannot thank all of the staff and the manager enough for their hard work, they were very professional at all times and always welcoming, the maid who serviced our room was excellent she always spoke to us and made sure we had what we needed, during our stay we had three calls from reception to check if everything was ok with our room which was a nice touch! Breakfast was always lovely, they serve you your tea/coffee and eggs, the rest is help yourself, it was quiet when we first arrived but got busier when we left, we always found a sun-bed and the staff will get your drinks for you if you don’t want to leave your sun-beds. We will definitely be back as we loved Crete, we are hoping to come back the end of this year - Thank you everyone for a lovely stay, you made our week!

    Lovely hotel in great central location. Went in May so not too busy and we got an upgrade to sea view. Breakfast very nice. Couple more freshly cooked options would be lovely but every thing was fresh and tasty. Sunbeds were always available both around the pool and on the beach. No need to reserve which we loved. Might be different in high season ?We had a couple of teeny practical issues in our room which were dealt with super quickly and efficiently. Nothing too big. Just a sticky lock and lightbulb.Lots of restaurants nearby in walking distance and supermarkets and cafes too.We requested a courtesy room on our last day which they provided.The hotel has been recently refurbished and was a lovely style and very relaxing.All in all a great stay and would recommend.

    Excellent recently refurbished family hotel

    Lovely clean and friendly family run hotel in the middle of Stalis Crete.Staff were friendly and helpful and the room and pool area was clean fresh and comfortable. Breakfasts were great and I’d recommend to anyone interested in holidaying in Stalis.The one caveat I’d put on it is that we went at the end of the season when the hotel was not full and had one whole block of about say 20 rooms unoccupied and the main block was not full which gave us an upgrade to a sea view room. This meant breakfasts and sun loungers etc were not busy and the whole experience was very relaxing and pleasant. When full I would imagine a different outlook and some of the non seaview rooms overlook other hotels and the main road which would be busy and noisy in peak periods. Also the hotel was only opened following refurbishment in July 2024 so you’d expect it to be clean and spotless. If you put a critical eye over it from a builders perspective (which I did) some of the finishing is suspect and will age and look untidy quite quickly but for us at that time it was perfect.

    Delightful and peaceful hotel with great service right until the end of our holiday. As we were the last couple remaining that was much appreciated. It was the last day of the season. Rooms clean and a good size. I would recommend a Seaview.The food was excellent particularly a shrimp linguine.
