Great place to stay to explore Venice (old monastery) on a budget - clean, safe, free breakfast and near station. Not for a romantic getaway but perfect for independent or family

    Value for money

The hotel is located near a boat station which makes it easy to travel within Venice. Value for money B&B for your holidays.

    Find a different option

We stayed in May 2025. Since we were on a biking trip, we chose this hotel because of the location: close to the train station. Booked for two nights but left after one. Based on talking to other guests, there are some nice rooms. Our room was really awful, I think #103. The confirmation included pictures and a description of a pretty nice room. Ours had a mold odor, and lots of issues. No power outlets by the bed, no desk, no way to open the bath door without hitting the bed, a wall light hiding behind a cabinet. We had hoped to enjoy sitting in the garden, but it was closed. So at the hotel, the only space to relax is in the room. Rather than let this stay ruin our experience at Venice, we departed a day early. The man at reception said that we just drew the worst room, but he had no choice. Honestly the hotel should not rent this room at all. On our next trip, we will be smarter and pay more for a good hotel visit. Venice was a nice experience. We especially like Murano.

    GREAT location with great service

    rating29 Apr 2025

Great location for transportation - very close to bus stations (Piazzale Roma and Tronchetto) as well as rail, water taxis and the cruise ship terminal An older property (built in the 16th century and modified in the 18th century as well as more recently !!), the bathroom was modern and spacious (and clean!) The room was an adquate size, but the bathroom big enough to do some exercising. The included breakfast was more than sufficient - several kinds of meats and cheeses, hardboiled eggs, several breads as well as yogurt, mixed fruits and beverages. Windows provided enough cooling until we found mosquitos, so we used the air conditioning .... the bed was a bit too firm for me, but much better than a sagging mattress! There is 24 hour reception, which is appreciated, since there are now so many private apartments being offered that "checking in" can be a hassle, especially if the host does not respond in a timely manner (I had to cancel two accommodations because I was given cause to wonder if the place was either no longer being let or it was a scam). The best part - the woman at reception was fantastic for providing a lot of details for our visit (detailed and specialised vaporetto information, sights, etc). I will try to remember to update this review once I find her name - she made our stay extra special !! (I know I'm a hard grader - 3*s means you get what you pay for)

A pleasant surprise with character, comfort, and value in a converted monastery

    rating02 Sept 2024

I picked this lodging because it was close to the train and bus stations, and we were staying our last night in Venice before flying home. What a pleasant surprise! As an old monastery it has such character. The rooms are simply furnished but comfortable, and the air conditioning actually cooled the room! Great location to walk to the grand canal and multiple restaurants as well as transportation. Breakfast was a nice bonus- nothing to write home about but adequate. Friendly staff and it was the least expensive lodging for our family of four out of four places we stayed. I would definitely stay here again.
