    Completely inside the nature

    rating01 Apr 2018

It's not easy to find it out the first time but it's completely inside a olive wood a bit outside Plakias (10 min by walk to the port). The room is quite big and clean, unfortunately we didn't find out the clima controller (our falt) but a part from this problem it's a place I can recommend for staying in Plakias.

Situated behind Plakias, by about ½ km, the Olive grove is nestled in a quite olive grove, overlooking the town of Plakias and with a great view of the beach and surrounding hills. The walk up is quite steep and our apartment was on the second floor up some 20 odd steps, so perhaps not advisable for the infirm or wheelchair bound. Our rooms consisted of a bedroom with ensuite and a separate sitting room with kitchen facilities, plus a large outdoor space, with sun beds and outdoor dining area. Everything we wanted was provided and the scenery, tranquility and location made this a great place to stay. If there was any fault it was with the narrow entrance to the shower which required sideways entry for the larger figure. An outstanding feature of these premises was the friendliness of the owner Sofia who never failed to smile, offer lifts, enquire about our wellbeing and generally made our stay so good.

The Olive Grove in Plakias: a piece of Paradise in Crete.

    rating06 Aug 2016

Olive Grove is on the flank of the Mountains gently sloping to the Sea completely sorrounded by olive threes. The Place is calm, clean and it has a wonderful view to the gulf. It is Easy to reach and the nearby city of Plakias is full of taverna, Shops and everything you need, But without the noise of turist place. The owner Sofia is gentle and She takes care of people hosted.

Quiet and peaceful accommodation - five minutes walk to bay.

    rating19 Jan 2015

I stayed here for about 5 nights in September, 2014. It was the best of three spots I chose to stay at in the Plakias area.Quiet, peaceful, clean and friendly owners. I think it is family owned and managed. It took me just less than five minutes to walk to the Bay and restaurant area. I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay.It has a kettle, fridge and some cutlery. There was a nice verandah area in front of my room.

A peaceful place with a panoramic view of the bay

    rating29 Jul 2013

Olive Grove is a serene hotel at walking distance from the center of Plakias. You will find this nice place at the end of a small road, in the middle of an olive grove and with a panorama view of the bay. There are other hotels in the area, but none of them are close by... so it feels really private and peaceful. Wonderful! Despite the remote feel, it is only a short walk to the center of Plakias (about 10 minutes). We stayed in a small room on the top floor, with a lovely panoramic view. The room was basic, but it had everything we needed and just outside the room there was a kitchenette. The rooms on the top floor have balconies, and the other rooms have larger terraces with sunbeds. When first arriving I was quite overwhelmed by the noise from the crickets (it seemed almost deafening in the otherwise so quiet setting), but I got used to it and after a while I hardly noticed it. The manager Sofia was lovely and very helpful, nothing was too much trouble. She was very attentive and keen on meeting our needs, which was remarkable seeing as she had to other places (Limani and Ariadne) to attend to. Olive Grove has no reception (at least not that were open in June, it might be different in high season), but Sofia was only a phone call away.
