  WORST EXPERINCE EVER !!!

  If you can, just try to find another place.So lets start with the manager, his the worst manager i ever saw !same with the receptionist !So we just arrived at the “hotel” 😂 if you can name that a hotel, and without saying anything they directly said that we don’t have a reservation without even asking our names or even without checking if we have a reservation on his computer or papers… We did the reservation on booking.com and payed 2 months earlier…After that we contacted booking and tried to fix this but the manager did not even tried to listen to us… and he said that if we want to stay we need to pay again, but the price was much higher. ( we contacted the booking support and we received back our money…)The booking support wanted to speak also with the manager but yeah he didn’t want to speak…Also one more thing, the distance is not the one he listed (700m from the beach) it is double (1.5km from the beach), check this on google maps.So guys pls try to avoid this “hotel” cuz you will have only problems!Furtunatly we had money to pay for another hotel on the same street with much better conditions and much cheaper, if not our vacation would have been messed up.So if you are young ( under 60) skip the “hotel”.And for the owner… sell your business to someone who can manage bookings😁 Olimpios Kazakis, Γενικός Διευθυντής at Armonia Hotel, responded to this review Imagine a guy with a genuine temperament entering the hotel with a pack of papers and informing us that he has a reservation, and even from an official agency.Although we explained to him that there was no reservation neither in his name nor in the reservation number he showed us, he continued to demand that we give him a room.Who else can know better if there is a reservation than the hotel manager?A futile attempt to explain that we fully understand that he paid to make the reservation but that something may have happenedso that his reservation is not valid.We tried to explain to him that without a reservation we cannot give him a room Without charging him with the accommodation costs.We suggested that he contact the agency that paid the money and ask for an explanation.Of course, he didn't even consider that he might have paid into the wrong account and someone had a free vacation with his money. You see, his charm didn't let him, neither then nor now,tell you that he was treated like a fool.Now he's trying to correct our behavior, and save the future customers of the Hotel.He probably tried to save his reputationas much as we would try to get paid by someone who doesn't exist.In essence, he was looking for a fool to prove that he's not thesame fool.And best of all, he left cursing me and it was a huge mistake, we didn't speak Italian, but only German, English, French and Greek.Bravo, bravo

  ATTENTION, SCAM ! Don’t fall for the pictures and reviews as i did. If you‘re looking for a place with furniture of the 1960‘s and atmosphere of a bad horror movie of the 1980‘s, that‘s the place to be! The weird -and sometimes really scary- owner Olympios is ruling his place like a Maharadscha for now 33 years, selects who can stay at his hotel (his words), no internet in the rooms, no TV, the pool is closed before 8am and after 8pm (but is not inviting anyway, directly beside the street, no shade, basic sunbeds without pillows…). But the worst about this place is the lack of atmosphere and renovation. Gives you a permanent feeling of being closed in a place where you do not want to be, horrible. And it was almost empty when we were there which made it even more suspicious…I took some picture where you can see state of the bathrooms, the reception with a switchboard on the right that is so old that it is almost cool (but also a bit scary!)….my 2 teenage boys were so scared and disappointed when arriving at the place (as me) that we immediately looked for another one. We stayed one night instead of the 5 booked and Olympios refused to pay back the difference of the down payment referring to a special law in Greece. THINK 3 TIMES BEFORE YOU BOOK THIS PLACE AND VISIT IT BEFORE IF YOU CAN !   15 minutes from Matala beach located family hotel with spacious rooms. Clean, quit and comfortable hotel with some negative issues. There is no television in the rooms. We asked the owner and his reply was that this is a hotel policy and life theory!!. I thing, he has to leave the option to his guests if they want to watch TV or not. No wifi in the rooms but only at the reception. Very short time for the breakfast. From 8:30 to 10:00. Breakfast was just fine. Not more not less. The refrigerator was unacceptable small. The pool was very small but that was more than ok for us. We didn't go to Matala to swim in a pool but in the amazing beaches like "Agiofarago", "Agios Pavlos" "Kokkini Paralia", etc.

  Holiday at Armonia Hotel

  When we arrived at the parking place at the hotel,Manolis{on of the owners} received us very friendly and insisted to carry our suitcases to our room.So we felt at home from the first moment.We enjoyed our holiday in the hotel and in Matala itself.The room was very fine with a balkony wich provided us with a great panorama over the hills,Breakfast was very good and we really loved to have the breakfast out in the open air ,where you can smell the fine smell of nature of Crete.It was a walk of about 20 minutes tot the center and beach of Matala.We did not like the shower so much,because the shower curtain was not sufficient ,the whole bathroom looked like a miniswimmingpool after taking a shower,Unfortenately the radio didn,t work .There was no watercooker ,so we could not make a cup of tea /coffee at the room.On the other side,when my partner ask for a hairdryer she got it imidiately from Olympios{the very friendly co owner ot the hotel.}And that is the general atmosfere at the hotel,the staff and employers are more than willing to help you with everything..The bartender Michaelis is also very friendly.If you like to drink a beer or something else when returning at the hotelbar after 22.00 returning from Matala town,you might have a problem there cause it,s closed..Garden,swimmingpool ect where absoluteley splendid,If you look for a hotel to have a nice easygoing holiday this might be the place to bequit nights ,no disco nois ore drunken tourists.Harmony pur sang,just as the name of the hotel suggest.Whe can only say that if whe would visit Matala again whe would gladly stay in this hotel again.Its not very handy for people with a handicap,due to the stares at the complex.If you would like to rent a bike there is a bike rental next to the hotel,with very fine bikes of all kinds wich is run by Lydia who happens to be the wife of Olympios,she will offer you a good deal if you mention that you are a hotelgast.
