    Definitely not 5*

    rating25 May 2026

Stayed (22.05.2026-26.05.2026)Hotel is a 4* at best. This is our 2nd visit to this hotel, stayed in 2024 had a lovely stay cannot say the same this time.Could have booked 7 nights elsewhere for the same price or cheaper, the fact that it rained for 2 days out of the 4 was not great.Heatwave back in the UK of 34°c and Greece was freezing was not the best start to the holidayRoomTV has no English Speaking Channels, if you want to watch the news (euro news or CNN) then that's the best your going to get.Kettle over boiled didn't switch itself off and had to be changed. No hot water in the sink to wash your face second to last day started coming through great not what you needBedsWell if you want a sore back, and neck these are the beds for you, they are so hard never slept once.Felt like I had trapped a nerve in my neck and had to book a back, neck, shoulder massage in the spa to try and relieve some of the pain.Rooms are basic, standard for anywhere else I have stayed.WiFi Very unstable i had better connection in Tunisia last year and went all the way from the hotel to the beach and that was 4*Technology being what it is now should be way betterPoolWater is freezing 🥶 I mean freezing you cannot get in it unless you want a coldSunbedsHard as anything, its like laying on ratten furniture back home without the cushion, very uncomfortable not 5*MealsWe went half board, food is lovely fresh and something for everyone. They charge you for drinks on your table which is fine but the water is not free and will charge you 3euros for a bottle.Bit strange when you can get juice and Tea/ Coffee at breakfast included.Check OutAsked on the previous to last night if we could extend as we were not flying until 23.45 the answer was no we have a family going into that room at 11.00am mmmm check out is 12.00. Felt rushed to pack up and be out of the room.Asked if we could use the spa facilities to get changed and have a quck shower for our return journey answer was there are showers outside by the pool. Really 5* i think not.Would not stay again.

    Exceptional holiday

    rating18 May 2026

My friend Sue and me booked a twin room and asked for a firm bed. We were pleased to find the beds were perfect for us. The Hotel Avra is quite amazing. All of the staff were helpful and went above and beyond their remit. Particular mention for Bueno and Antonio the waiters who were great. The door staff went above their remit too. Thankyou to all. The food in the restaurants was exceptional too. So we enjoyed a most relaxing stay and will definitely return.

    Relaxing 10 Day Stay

    rating14 May 2026

I have just returned from a lovely 10 day trip at the Avra Imperial. We stayed in the residence collection side which is definitely worth the additional cost if you are travelling without children. The pool is lovely, there are plenty of (very comfy) sunbeds and the buffet is good, a marked difference from the main buffet. The two waitresses at breakfast, Litsa and Mariam were always super lovely. the waitress at the Blue Dong restaurant was also great (apologies I didnt get her name).Slight improvements for me would be to have the mini bar refilled - not necessarily daily but it wasn't replenished throughout the whole 10 days which would be nice. Also, more decaf options for coffees - I was pregnant when we went so was restricted to instant sachets.Evening entertainment was minimal but for us this was not problem at all.Overall a lovely stay and would definitely return.

Beautiful Hotel, Poorly Designed for Young Families

    rating08 May 2026

We stayed at the Avra Imperial Hotel recently and overall I would rate it 3 stars. The hotel grounds are beautiful and very well maintained. The main pools are lovely and the rooms were modern, spacious and very comfortable. Reception staff were consistently friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The spa massages were also excellent. The food was surprisingly good overall, but the pool cocktails were disappointing and seemed to contain very little alcohol. The creche staff were fantastic and our children absolutely loved them. However, this hotel is heavily marketed as a family resort and in reality it does not really cater well to families with small children. There is no proper kids club where children can freely play unless you pay for the creche. The playground and children’s pool feel like an afterthought and are not particularly nice. The kids pool was not heated, and neither was the spa pool, which made things less than ideal for younger children. Children are also only allowed limited access to the spa for two hours per day.The location is also quite isolated. There is very little within walking distance and nowhere really to stroll to outside the resort.Unfortunately, there was also a very upsetting incident during our stay. Friends travelling with us ordered toddler food for their 9 month old baby. The food arrived piping hot and was placed directly in front of the baby without any warning. The baby pulled the cup and suffered second degree burns to their hand. A doctor had to be called to the hotel. What was most disappointing was the hotel management’s response afterwards. Nobody from management came to properly check on the family, apologise in person, or offer to cover the doctor’s costs or show any meaningful gesture of goodwill following an incident caused by food served by the hotel. The only thing offered was an à la carte dinner at the exact same restaurant where the accident happened, as though the family would want to return there immediately and relive the experience. It felt extremely tone deaf and left a very negative impression on all of us.Overall, while the hotel has some strong points, especially the grounds, rooms, spa and creche staff, it does not truly feel like a well thought through family resort for young children. We enjoyed parts of the stay, but would not return.

The taste of luxury and calm holidays for everybody.

    rating20 Dec 2025

First thing location, great, on a side, but close to the shops and car rentals. Very nice atmosphere, fairy colours and a bit of luxury. Nice place to take a pictures and for walks around. For sure good place for pairs and families. Rooms are big and comfortable, with air conditioning. THis hotel is very good in its price range, you will not meet here mass customers for cheap reates, especially when you will take All inclusive option. n this place it means also a bottvine for luch and dinner. of course nice bars are available. In the lobby bar there is also a piano concerts in the evening. The hotel is clean with a lot of laying beds, even close to midday you can find some spare ones, without the fight for it in 6 o'clock in the morning. Which is a very big advantage. However there is one big minus, there is no sand beach attached to the hotel. However if you take a bus and take 2 or 3 bus stops you can have a grat sand beach available for you. The beach in the hotel is made of small rock. Very hard to make a steps, however for me it doesn't have an influence. If you would like to take sunbaths, few pools in the hotel are enough for it, if you would like to take a trip to Balos lagune you can have a grate beach and views in the package. If you decide to go to the Elafonissi lagune you will have even much more choice of sand beaches and views. The hotel is quiet even if you take into consideration families with kids like myself. The service level is grate, a lot of table for breakfast, lunch and dinner, in the mornig fresh orange juice, a lot of foof for selection, fruits, meats, some fishes, sweetes and cackes, brad (wide selection) and so on. The food quality is very nice, there are also live cooking options for kids and parents. Most of the familes with loud kids are selecting other close by hotel (Crispy). From the whole bus, we had been the only passengers going to Avra Imperial Hotel. It is also worth to take a trip to Hania for sightseeing and shopping, as wel as a bit of history and beautiful small streets to see. To be honest it is a pear for the people looking for a mix of luxury and quiet and comfort hotel. That is why in my opinion there is not so much actual comments here, nobody wants to make it more "mass" and "noisy" place. it is really greate place to rest from a every day run. This hotel is also close to the airport, so the transfer is not too long.
