    What makes a good place to stay are the people who work there to make us wanted

    Second vacation in Marilena Hotel. Last year, we  really enjoyed our staying there, but in 2025 we loved it. We were cherished as old friends coming back, missed after a whole year, and all greeted with hugs and open smiles. At the reception, our special thanks to Soula for her room gift (looking at the wonderful blue Cretan sea from our balcony,  lifted our spirit  every day); to Tasos ( we loved your welcoming gift on our room and are grateful for all the useful travel and restaurant informations ); to Dimitris ( we really enjoyed learning  about the origin of some Cretan family names). At the restaurant,  we were really happy to find our friends Eirini and Marina, always with a smile even when they looked very tired ; also some young and nice new faces, such as Georgia and Panos. We must say that we missed Manos in the restaurant, he was very special in its own shy way. The new restaurant responsible, Kristi, was very attentive and efficient and definitely saved my sour throat, even after working hours. Also a new face in guest relations, Milena (very attentive and nice) and a new restaurant responsible, Kristi, also attentive and efficient (saved my sour throat.We had Mariana both at the restaurant in the morning and at the pool bar, in the evening, making sure we were never thirsty and had great music there. Also, at the pool bar, our thanks to Atalanti and Eleni, always in a  great mood.Let's not forget our beautiful Marrocan cleaning lady, Jamilla, who always had a design treat (boats, tee-shirts, sunsets, animals, etc) waiting on our beds when we returned to our room.And to Dimitris, at the varanda bar, "oppa" till next year, dear friend.Last, but not least, our Eirini and Voula, from last year, sisters in working capabilities, politeness and sensitive souls. Special music (Marianna told us you had made it for us, Eirini ) and such good hugs....We had never been offered goodbye gifts from anyone ,  around any  of places in the world... Cretan people are really unique.!!! Be sure they still are being enjoyed and motive to talk about you gorgeous sisters.Our apologies to all the working staff whose names we were not able to get, and our tkanks to them all.Once again, Marilena Hotel's soul, its workers, filled our hearts and made us feel wanted there.Thank you, Mr. Stavros, for being so good on choosing the right persons to work in Marilena.  It wouln't be the same hotel without them all.It's a trully different and joyfull place to be.

    They best staff!!! We been there with our work group and all do the extra mile to help us with everything!!! Amazing food with inspired nights like Greek cuisine night.     The staff was amazing.From our arrival until the checkout all smiling and trying to assist us. Thanks a lot Dimitri at reception, helping us with our rent a car !     I hit the most wonderful time there. Great beaches are closed to the hotel the stuff was really friendly, rooms clean and comfortable.     NEVER AGAIN MARILENA HOTEL!!!

    Overall not a nice experience. We have arrived around 10 pm Saturday (20.09.2025)to be told that our room will not be available until ...Monday without be given a reason!!!I have to mention that we have booked our holiday in ...February!!! Shame to LoveHolidays and Marilena Hotel!!!So in that night, after 8 hrs of travel, we have been transferred to a different hotel for the next 2 nights!!! By the time we have got some rest was past 1am....next day we woke up past 12 pm so I can say that we lost a day.The restaurant was to small for the amount of guests. Between the meals, as all inclusive guests,it wasn't a big choice of snacks-just some gyros (very tired), fries, some pancakes....very poor!!!!Not an 4 stars hotel at all !!!!The pool bottom is flaking...The bathroom in an very poor condition: damaged bathtub, rust on the pipes, the door not shutting properly, very worn furniture, the very old fridge was leaking. The the keycards were failing every day...It was room 301 (just in case)And the "cherry on the cake" is the fact that they (operation manager) are VERY INSENSITIVE!!!!On the 8th day of our holiday I have received some bad news (my father has passed away) so I did tell them that next day I will check out at 5 pm in order to catch a flight to attend the funeral. So , on that they, I have received an phone call from the Operations Manager around 3 pm who wanted to" know for sure if I am going to check out so he can give my room away to someoneelse" ( really???)even that I still had 2 days left!!!!SHAME, SHAME,SHAME ON YOU!!!VERY VERY DISGUSTED!!!!!This is not the way to treat someone who is in grief.So I left the hotel in the next 10 minutes!!!!Waiting with interest Marilena's Hotel and Loveholidays ...points of view!!!!
