Location

The hotel is situated on the outskirts of the resort of Gouves. There are two sandy beaches within a short walking distance and various restaurants, mini supermarkets, bars, taverns and gift shops around the complex.

Facility

The club has a lift and features 140 rooms. Multilingual staff (English, German, French) at the reception are happy to assist guests at the reception desk round the clock. Check-in and check-out are available 24 hours a day. A baggage storage service, a safe and a currency exchange service are available. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities.     Worst hotel!

    DO NOT STAY. I have stayed in many 3 star hotels and have never been to a hotel as awful as this one! The staff, in particular Rula, George and the older lady in reception, were extremely rude & unwelcoming. Out of a weeks stay, we only spent one day in the hotel due to how uncomfortable we were there. We also payed for two rooms and me and my partner & the other couple we had booked with all got shoved in the same dirty room. The room also felt very unsafe. The front door handle was barely attached and there was a hole in the window meaning you could see straight into our room from the busy corridor. As a frequent traveller this is had definitely been the worst hotel i’ve stayed at. When booking we took all the negative reviews lightly and thought people were exaggerating. We were very wrong.

    just back after a 2 week family holiday for 12 7 adults 4 kids and a baby the hotel is at best 3 stars but very clean the food for me was awful so ate out every day the kids loved the pool and most of the staff are very helpful and friendly the man that does the excursions was extremely helpful and if you need to hire a car speak to him he is cheap and does all the hard work for you entertainment wasn't up to much but by the time it came on most of us were in bed beautiful area could do with some lifts as carrying a pushchair up 2 flights of stairs 3 to 4 times a day takes it out of you not to mention the 8 suitcases overall a fantastic holiday if the food and all inclusive drinks changed would defiantly go back

    We had a lovely stay at Club Lyda Hotel and would definitely return.The staff were absolutely fantastic – incredibly friendly and always willing to do whatever they could to make our stay better. They really are the heart of the hotel.The hotel has two large pools with plenty of sunbeds, and best of all, there was no need to rush down in the morning to reserve one. No matter what time we went, beds were available, which made things much more relaxing. There could be a few more umbrellas, but you can easily pick one up from the mini market on site if needed.The food was the only real let-down. While there was variety, it would be nice to have some more simple options. It’s not terrible, but it is the one area where the hotel could really improve.The hotel itself is a little secluded from the main resorts and shops, but everything is still walkable, and there’s a free shuttle to the beach three times a day which is very handy. We also hired a car for a week (€315), and it was brilliant – hassle-free, no push for extra insurance, and a great way to see the island, which is huge. Highly recommend getting a car if you want to explore properly.Our first room was a bit too small, so we paid to upgrade to a one-bedroom apartment which was excellent. Air conditioning is free in the rooms too, which was a nice bonus.Entertainment was minimal, but we stayed at the end of the season, so that might explain it.Overall, ignore the harsh reviews – this is a lovely hotel with wonderful staff, great pools, and good value for money. The food could be improved, but apart from that, it’s well worth a stay.

    Wonderful Greek holiday

    The hotel is nice, clean and the food is delicious. The rooms are large and cleaned daily. There are tree swimming pools beetwen trees and flowers. The restaurant serves, among others, Greek dishes. There are a lot of vegetables and fruits. And of course olives and tzatziki sauce. The service is very helpful.

    Beautiful summer holidays at Club Lyda Hotel Kato Gouves

    Our vacation started in Crete, an island famous for its wonderful beaches and good traditional food. We decided to visit the " Club Lyda" hotel in Gouves. The reception was full of kindness and helpfulness. The rooms had a beautiful view and were very clean. The rooms were cleaned daily. The food was well-cooked and offered unique flavors. The waiters were always in a very good mood, smiling and offered us their services in the best possible way. Our impressions were very good and we will visit the Club Lyda hotel again soon.
