  Good location but not without fault

  The Hotel Wellenberg is an ideal location in Zurich old town, close enough to tram stops and a 5 minute walk to main railway station. Located in the heart of the old town area there are many lively bars and restaurants to choose from, but this also has it downside. To start with, check in was quick and efficient. The room on the 4th floor was clean and comfortable. Wi-fi worked well. However our room (403) overlooked the main walking area and it was very noisy at night. It did ease off, but well into the small hours. The room itself was very warm and with no air conditioning it was hard to sleep. After staying here for 4 nights the lack of sleep was becoming a bit of a nuisance. Opening the windows just exacerbated the noise. Bathroom and shower OK, but the amenities were a bit on the poor side. I didn't like the smell of the shower gel and the pump on the bottle did not work. Breakfast on the 2nd floor was adequate with plenty of cold meats, fruits and cheeses. There was also a very small selection of hot food. I've had a lot worse and a lot better, so can't really complain about the fare. Next to the breakfast room was a small terrace where you could go outside (if the weather permits) rather than eat breakfast in the dining room.Interestingly there is a nice bar and sitting area within the hotel, but you really need to look for it. All in all, the hotel was fine for our stay in Zurich. Not the cheapest, but for location I would book again.... but only if I could get a room that overlooks the terrace and away from the main street,

  Location was fantastic, easy walk to many of the main sights and close to the train station. The tower suite was beautiful and spacious. Everything felt clean and well-designed. The breakfast was just okay, nothing special, but was nice to have.

  Nice hotel in general ! Some notes:Breakfast quality must be improved . Housekeeping is very polite ! You need to add iron in the room its a must for everybody ! The gentleman with the blue eyes at the reception i think the name is dennis is very professional and answered the questions rapidly and polite . When people arr staying for one night is nice of you early check in them or provide a complimentary upgrade. It enhances the experience.

  Disappointing service and poor state of the room. Never 4 star quality

  We spent 2 nights as a couple in Room 405. The heating in the bathroom did not work throughout our stay. We asked 3! Times for it to be fixed but nothing happened. Freezing shower/bathroom all 2 days. Also the Ventilator did not work which meant the whole bathroom was full of steam. You couldent see yourself in the mirror anymore. This was also reported… no action taken. Also the blinds did not work (also reported but nothing happened). We got the impression no one really cared to help, the front desk aknowledged but did not do anything apart from offering us a voucher for breakfast extra!Room was in poor condition in general. I attach some pictures so one sees. PS. I asked 2 times to speak to the owners/managers before posting this review but inwas ignored…
