Small Quiet Room with a Balcony in the Old Town

    rating19 Oct 2024

Excellent location in the old town, you can walk everywhere and there are lots of great restaurants nearby. We had a room with a balcony overlooking the street, and with the windows closed at night it was very quiet. The bed was comfortable. The shower area could use a refresh, the bathroom is a bit fatigued looking. The television in our room was non-functioning, and the WIFI is very weak. The AC was good. We had to go to another hotel down the street for the reception, our hotel just had an empty desk. We did get breakfast in our hotel, which was fine but didn’t have much in the way of fresh fruit. (A few tired apple slices, some mushy kiwi fruit, a few slices of pineapple). I am moved to write this review because the hotel clearly advertised “free parking”. This is a white unicorn. We went out at 11 pm and at 6 am on several occasions and never once found a spot on the street identified by the hotel as the free parking. We ended up parking at Parking Plaza, Pireos 3, Chania which is a 350 meter walk from the hotel and is next to a handy supermarket. (We bought coffee pods there as the hotel only provides enough for one day). The Parking Plaza costs 26 Euros per day, but has an elevator. So we were able to park, get our suitcases up to the street, and trundle them over to the hotel without too much problem. We had two sets of stairs to climb in the hotel to get to our room. There was no hotel porter service we were aware of. So if you have any mobility issues, be aware there is no elevator or help at the hotel, and also be aware that parking on the street for free would only be found by the most lucky. There is NO PARKING within the Old Town. Any parking you might see is only for residents who have a special permit.

Great value in the center of old Chania

    rating17 Jul 2024

What a charming hotel right in the heart of old Chania. The small hotel is not on the water, but you check in to a sister property that is. The first floor of Elia Fatma hotel serves as the dining room for the two hotel. The decor is very unique, quite hard to describe, but very pleasant with a lot of color. The bed was comfortable, shower worked well. and A/C was very much appreciated. There is a lot of action on the street around the corner, but the alley the hotel was on was very quiet. What was amazing was the breakfast buffet. The room was very bright with large glass windows opening onto the street, and the staff was incredibly friendly. The variety of offering was unbelievable; we never had to eat the same thing twice. So all in all, a quiet hotel with interesting decor, centrally located and all at an amazing price.

Super rude and bad cleaning and service staff

    rating03 Jul 2024

Hey, wanted to give you a small feedback in regards to the cleaning stuff. I just wanted to use the 60 euro shampoo that I had with me in crete which was left in the bathroom and just noticed they empty the bottle and added water. Really not professional at all. This plus the restaurant issues when they took my plate just because I was called at the reception, considering it was the first time when I came to have breakfast which was literally some watermelon and a coffee and also the rude talking when I went at 7am for a smoke and then two of them stood in front of me and being super impolite telling me I don t have accommodation there.

    The welcoming heart of Chania

    rating06 Apr 2023

Right in the heart of Chania's old quarter and (literally) a stone's throw from th harbour, this is the perfect base for enjoying this beautiful place and exploring its surroundings. Our room was spacious and very comfortable, with the added bonus of a private terrace. The breakfast was spectacular. And the people were unfailingly friendly and helpful. All in all, a delightful experience.

    Breakfast at Fatma

    rating15 Jan 2023

We didn't stay at the hotel but we had breakfast here every morning throughout our stay at Hania. It was a fantastic experience, big variety of freshly prepared products and Gianna at the service is one of the best people at the job we have ever met. Lots of love from the whole family x
