  Gorgeous Suite

  The suite was so beautifully decorated, very clean with one double bed and a Jacuzzi!It was very nice to stay there.The location is walking distance to all the shops and a beach. The staff were very nice, helpful and welcoming.

  Boutique rooms in the heart of Chania old town

  We stayed in Portou Due, rooms serviced by the nearby Elia hotel. You cannot drive to the rooms, you will be dropped either by the Alpha Bank at the top of Halidon or in Talos Square at the bottom of Theotokopolou, the hotel and rooms are just a short walk. Our suite had a bedroom with very comfortable queen bed, air con, towelling robes, slippers, etc etc. Lovely! And located in the heart of the old town, it was a wonderful stay. Angela on reception was an absolute star! Highly recommended.

  We stayed at the Elia Portou Due for a little over a week. The rooms are beautifully decorated, and the beds are comfortable. The location is walking distance to all the shops and a beach. However, the modern rooms do not make up for the appalling service. Before we came to crete we called ahead and were instructed to go to another Elia hotel reception, which we did, but only to be told that we needed to go to yet another Elia hotel location. We pulled our suitcases over the cobble stone paths to three locations!There was no hot water for the first five days of our stay. It would have been nice to shower in the morning and in the evening as the weather is so hot. You can hear everything on the street, in the rooms above and every room on your floor. We could hear whole conversations from people in adjoining rooms, people walking up and down the stairs and the floor boards creaking as the ceiling is exposed.The rooms aren’t cleaned properly by house keeping, toiletries and toilet paper aren’t replenished, towels are taken and not replaced and beds aren’t made. The house keepers practically yell at each others and loudly walk around so you can hear them the entire time the clean every room. One house keeper even asked us for a biscuit and got annoyed when we didn’t have any for her! We asked to use an iron and the reception provided us with one, only to have it taken away by house keeping. There is no reception in the building, but there is also no phone to call the shared reception at the other hotel, so when we had issues we had to walk down to the other hotel. This hotel isn’t worth the high price tag seeing as so many hotel basics are lacking.

  Gorgeous Suite at the Portou Due

  The suite was so beautifully decorated, very clean and very spacious with 2 bedrooms and 2 balconies. I wish the main room had a couch and table rather than a double bed, this would have been more useful for us as a couple. The location was fantastic and the staff were very nice, helpful and welcoming. I loved this hotel and would stay again.

  Unspeakable !!!

  Really awful experience ... We booked the suite at porto due with the jacuzzi . First of all the room was not clean , even though we arrived at 4pm . The jacuzzi was not working properly and the reception had to call a plummer to fix the problem . We asked to speak to the manager to address the issue , but he was nowhere to be found . Lastly when we came back from the sea and we would like to take a shower but that was not possible as the water was nothing short of ice . The excusse for that shortcoming was just to wait for the water to heat up .... Oh i forgot , the jacuzzi was fixed ... Try enjoy it freezing ....
