    Go somewhere else.

Arrived late due to flight delay, no one except the Doberman in reception. Note on door said key in door with room number. No key so had to ring emergency number and she wasn't happy. When we checked in next morning she didn't mention they also ran a car hire company and when we hired from someone else we got told in no uncertain terms that the front was reserved for their cars and we "couldn't park there", apparently we should park around the back. No explanation of where and no signs to follow.Needless to say after this and the Doberman we didn't speak or try to speak to the manager again. The room is clean and was cleaned very well. The young lady who cleaned and worked in the bar was very friendly and efficient. Unfortunately that's the best that can be said for the room.Shower was so small the small shower/toilet effectively became a wet room. It couldn't be used as an overhead shower as the hinge couldn't be tightened enough to stop it from falling and showering the wall. When used by hand the water falls off your body onto the shower room floor. All other bathroom fittings were either broken or faulty. The kitchen is small but adequate, but there wasn't even a sharp knife to cut fruit/cheese etc. Plates and cups were small, 1 piece of toast was max per plate. The heat/smoke detector had been removed.Beds are prison camp standard (complete with wooden slats for the escape tunnel), the mattresses are basically 2 boards with springs between. Highly uncomfortable and no give in the surface. Also although there were 4 beds the only other place to sit was 4 hard wooden chairs, none of the beds were sofa beds and there were no extra cushions or padding to make them comfortable to sit on.Also as there was no segregation between smoking and non-smoking rooms our balcony was a no go area due to the chain smoking woman in the next apartment. I think she was smoking cow dung.

    September holiday

    rating03 Oct 2023

We stayed for one week at the end of September. Our room was comfortable and cleaned daily. The shower was a bit dated but it worked fine and was hot. We had a nice balcony with a side sea view and sunset in the evening. There was no noise during our stay, and we slept really well. The pool area is small but very relaxing, and you get the sun up until sunset. There are comfy sunbeds and a small bar to get drinks. I had a lovely Aperol Spritz! Near to all amenities and beach is a 5 min walk away. We enjoyed out stay and would definitely consider staying here again.

    Cheap and Cheerful

    rating17 Jul 2023

We stayed end of June into July for 11 night. This was advertised as a two star with the company we booked through and for a two star it can’t be faulted. We had a ground floor one bedroom apartment so unfortunately missed out on the views but a simple clean spacious base. Air con was extra for 8 euro a night but most of Greek self catering do charge extra. We didn’t use self catering facilities except for breakfast using toaster as we ate out nearby which we planned so didn’t rely on the facilities but there was simple facilities to cook if wanted. The pool bar prices are what is expected. The room was clean and cleaned every two days with fresh bedding and towels. The grounds were alway clean with beautiful flowers. The staff were super friendly. Families staying here were also very friendly, no trouble getting a bed round the pool which was my worry as seemed a small pool area but no problem atall- very relaxed feel- not sure how would be during school break. Excellent location closer to beach and shops than I’d thought yet still very peaceful. Bali is lovely must visit all the bays as they are all different and lovely. Super bakers nearby. Little train to take to the furthest bay at evita but we walked early and it was stunning clear water (hire a pedalo and go to the right for private cove) all restaurants have similar menus and all very nice. If buying suncream here then go to chemist as we got caught out in one shop and sold expired suncream. The only thing that let it down were the very uncomfortable beds but you do get use to it after couple of nights and you get what you pay for. I wouldn’t normally return to same place as I like to try different places but I would return here and would return to Bali again as a base to explore Crete. Must try the street food at Bali harbour for Gyros and waffles nearby. Lovely relaxing holiday.

    Excellant and highly recommended

    rating08 Aug 2022

We just returned from a two week stay at Elpis and throughly enjoyed our stay. The rooms are equipped with AC, cooking items and a safe which was everything we needed. The cleaners where brillant as got a visit everyday and sheets and towels changed regularly could not fault our stay. The complex has a nice pool and pool bar and Popi and Stelious where brillant. Elpis is well located in the centre of Bali and restaurant, shops and a minimart all in walking distance. Also you can hire a vehicle from Elpis. We enjoyed our stay and based on our experience we will visit again.

    Absolutely delightful!

    rating30 Jul 2022

I came to stay at Elpis Studios with my 5 children (aged 9-16) and my Mum. We arrived to two spotless rooms, so clean and nicely put together. We had two triple rooms and a camp bed was placed in one of the rooms so that it could sleep 4. The pool I was worried might be a bit small for the kids but there was actually plenty of space and in the end we spent more time by the pool than we did the beaches. Everyone who works there was very friendly, helpful and so generous, they work very hard and it shows. Would definitely consider staying again as we had such a lovely time in Bali and staying at Elpis especially.
