    The most wonderful staff

    rating24 Apr 2026

Just off the main road in Amoudara, the huge beach is at the end. The hotel frontage and reception area are lovely. Small lift which was a blessing. Nice dining area either inside or out around the pool. Our first room (301). was quite small but clean. I had previously emailed to ask for a low floor with two single beds as I was travelling with my grown up daughter. This room had a double bed and was on the highest floor. After speaking to the reception staff and explaining the situation, the young man on reception said we could change rooms the following day as they were booked up on the day we arrived. The next day we moved to room 106 which was a family room so more spacious and with two singles as well as a double bed. Nice shower/ bathroom. Toilet lid a bit iffy… kept falling down, balcony really narrow but we were only there in total for four nights. The hotel is clean and the staff in reception and dining are incredibly hard working and such lovely people. The food was so good too… delicious scrambled eggs! You can make your own fresh squeezed orange juice. We also had an evening meal there one night (25 e per person) and it was like fine dining! Seven little courses but each one was delicious. I haven’t got anything bad to say about Georgias but it is a small hotel with a small pool. The garden area is lovely though. Close by, supermarket (where transfer drops you off) and two other shops that sell allsorts, a nice bar ( Wild Rose) and a typical Greek Taverna about 3 min walk away. There isn’t a lot around but the beach is massive, views are lovely.

    Keep on coming back

    rating13 Sept 2025

We keep coming to Georgia's Garden hotel and, each time, with the same great pleasure. We love swimming in the sea and smooth sand beach, which is just 200m from the hotel. The morning breakfast is very rich, made with fresh, local delicious ingredients. A perfect way to start the day 😀 If we do not go to the beach, we swim in the pool, enjoy a cocktail or walk around to souvenir shops or take the bus to the city centre. The bus stop for the line City Centre-Airport is just around the corner, very easy and convenient. Anything you need, just ask the friendly staff and they will help you gladly: booking excursions, a massage, ordering a taxi, renting a car, tourist information, you name it. In the evening we enjoy a nice dinner or just a drink or cocktail at the bar, sometimes also chatting with guests from all over the world. We even made good friends here. This place is for us the definition of a relaxed and happy holiday.

    O experienta de coșmar/ A terrible experience

    rating22 Aug 2025

It was a nightmare experience that I never want to experience again. We arrived late at night at 00.30. We desperately wanted to get into any kind of room to take a shower and sleep, but at the reception we were greeted by a gentleman who told us that he had no rooms available because a tourist broke his leg and had to stay another day. A lie! But that doesn't matter. He told us that he was offering us another room with a better rating in Heraklion. It didn't suit us given the late hour but in the end we accepted because all we wanted at that hour was to sleep. He called us a taxi, we don't know if he spoke to the taxi driver but, he put our luggage in and sent us off. No address, nothing. Just a piece of paper with the door code. In the meantime it was 1.00 am. The taxi driver drove half an hour to Heraklion and then spent another half hour looking for the address. He stopped various people on the street to ask about the address, it was clear that he didn't know where to take us either, then he stopped near some dumpsters looking for number 26. He kept asking us where to take us. And we didn't know anything because he hadn't given us an address, he just showed us the inside of the room on his phone. In the end, the tired taxi driver showed us number 22 on a block of flats and told us to look for number 26 ourselves. We couldn't believe it!! So you Greek, born there, speaking your language, can't find an address and you make us, tourists, at 1:30 in the morning, look for an address. We asked to go back to the hotel, we called the agency, the people from the Christian tour agency very promptly called the hotel trying to remedy the situation. In vain! The receptionist told them that there were technical problems with the room and that we refused to be moved to another, much better room. I said 10 times in English and then with Google Translate in Greek that we were not taken to any location, the taxi driver simply wanted to drop us off near some dumpsters, but the receptionist was Zen. Then he showed me on my phone that the car could not have reached the exact location and that we would have had to get off with our luggage and go around the building to enter it. Well, how would we know, if the taxi driver didn't know? In the meantime, it was 3:00. We slept on the couches in the lobby. At 6:00 the shift changed and the young lady who came told us that check-in was at 14:00. So another 8 hours of torment. It was terrible, it was insensitivity, a lack of respect for us as people.

Beautiful hotel and the best customer service in Greece

    rating07 Jul 2025

Wow, what a fantastic hotel, truly one of the best hotels we have stayed at, the reception team were absolutely fantastic and so were the bar staff and cleaners. There is a few lovely restaurants within 15 minutes walk. Hereklion is not too far (€15 in a taxi) lots of small shops near by and a lovely beach. The pool and garden are stunning, drinks and food are well priced at the hotel itself for day time food and drink.Thank you to the staff of Georgia’s garden hotel, we hope to see you again in the future.

    Luxury at budget prices

    rating24 May 2025

I would recommend this hotel for anyone who wants to be near the beach and based in the Heraklion area. We were out of season and there only seemed to be one taverna close by, which would have limited our eating options, had we stayed longer, but we did see a another place 5 minutes walk away on the main road. The hotel itself wasn't doing meals other than breakfast. It has a lovely garden with swimming and spa pools as well as sunbathing areas. We had a hire car so it was great that the hotel had its own carpark. There are tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms. Our kettle didn't work and we reported it to reception, whereupon, they quickly replaced it for one that did. The staff were really good. The breakfast was excellent with a comprehensive range of cooked and cold foods, yoghurt, fruit, nuts, cereal, breads and pastries. The rose jam was especially nice. One possible disadvantage was that the building next door [that our balcony looked out on to] appeared abandoned and uncared for. So if you wish a better view from your balcony, ask for a room that doesn't face south.
